MEOW Foundation Founded in 2000, MEOW Foundation is a cat-focused registered charity and humane society with a no-kill mandate located in Calgary, Canada.

MEOW Foundation is a Calgary-based no-kill registered charity that rescues and adopts stray and abandoned cats, and provides valuable community programs.

*Please note, visits are by appointment only* We rescue and facilitate the adoption of stray and abandoned cats into new, loving permanent homes. We work hard to match each MEOW cat with the best possible home based on his or her personality, hi

story, habits and individual needs. In addition to our Rescue and Adoption program, MEOW Foundation offers a subsidized Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP), Cat Food Assistance Program and Trap Neuter Return (TNR) Program. Our volunteers and staff are passionate about providing the best care to every cat and dedicated to providing the best services to our supporters. We believe that through the dedication and compassion of people across the planet, we will create a society that respects the animals with whom we share the world. Crossbones has been in MEOW's care for 358 days. 🐈‍⬛

He's a sweet, friendly, and affectionate fellow. He's faced some health challenges. After dental surgery, he is feeling much better, but it was also discovered that, even at his relatively young age, a renal diet is recommended, with some exceptions, to support his optimal health.

It's puzzling to MEOW staff that he is still in our care; with his kind demeanour and affectionate nature, he should have been adopted by now. Our Cat Days of Summer 50/50 Raffle helps us support cats like Crossbones, who for whatever reason have yet to find their person. Did you know MEOW can help make spaying or neutering your cat more affordable? 💙🐾

Our Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) is available to eligible cat owners who are experiencing financial barriers to veterinary care.

To qualify, applicants must:
• Meet the program's financial eligibility requirements
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Be the legal owner of the cat

MEOW's partner veterinary clinics are in high demand, so applicants should be prepared for possible wait times and must have their own transportation.

Wingding is a girl who has standards. 💙

This independent girl knows exactly what she likes and she’s looking for someone who appreciates a cat who does things on her own terms. Wingding may greet you with a little conversation or a leg rub, and lately she’s discovered that brushing, gentle pets, and a good purr session are actually pretty great.

What makes Wingding happiest is a calm, predictable world. She’s looking for an adult home without children or dogs, where she can settle into her routine and build a relationship at her own pace. She has lived with another cat before, but would be perfectly content being your one and only.

Wingding may be selective about her people, but perhaps she’s just waiting to select you. 💙

Some of the sweetest relationships take a little longer to bloom. 💙

Shy cats are often some of our longest-stay residents at MEOW. While their more outgoing friends may be quick to say hello, shy cats need a little more time, patience, and understanding before they’re ready to show you who they really are.

But earning the trust of a shy cat? There’s nothing quite like it. 🐾

The first time they approach you. The first head boop. The first time they curl up nearby because they finally feel safe. Those little moments become pretty big ones.

If you’re thinking about adopting, don’t overlook the cat hiding in the back of their bed or watching quietly from across the room. They may just need someone willing to give them a chance.

This year on National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day, consider when your feline friend last had a checkup. Cats are experts at hiding pain and illness, which means regular veterinary visits can help catch subtle changes before they become bigger concerns.

Lobster Roll has one wish for the rest of summer: a home of her own. 💙

After arriving at MEOW from a partner agency, this sweet girl has been taking her time getting comfortable and learning that she's safe. For now, her cozy hidey bed is her favourite spot as she gets to know the people and routines around her.

Her forever-home wish list is pretty simple: a calm, quiet space, warm sunbeams, good window views, comfy beds, the occasional tasty treat, and someone patient to love her.

With those knowing eyes and sweet little face, Lobster Roll is ready to bring a gentle, comforting presence to one very lucky home.
