Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue Rescuing homeless dogs from from harsh conditions, getting them vet care, foster homes, socialization, and finding matched homes.

Focusing on rescuing homeless dogs and cats from harsh environments and overcrowded shelters, rehabilitate them and match to adopter's and pets needs. We also try our best to educate about animal welfare, dog behaviour and dog psychology.

UPDATE PUP IN DRAINAGE PIPE: Awwww, what a difference a few days and caring people can do. The pup in the pipe is progressing, little by little in his new foster home. Rescued feral, (never had been handled by people, very scared). His rescuer took time to get him to feel safe enough to be saved and now his foster sweet talks and hand feeds. You can see difference in his eyes. He is learning to trust, and of course, enjoy a dry place, (was living in the pipe during ongoing rain). 😘❤️

BENNY UPDATE! He is now pending! A wonderful application for a couple with outdoor lifestyle, which fits Benny super well, has come in. He's grown up from tiny puppy in Saskatchewan snowbank with mom and siblings, and on to foster care home in Sicamous with K911 and been thriving with her dogs.

Benny, the last pup in his litter, rescued from snowbank with his mother and siblings here, was secured in a tent unfortunately with no heat, -45 weather in Saskatchewan, only temporary while the responders were searching for temporary fosterers. Shortly after they got out of there, transported to us, and Benny out to Sicamous to foster care where his is now a large puppy waiting for his turn. (see post below for his puppy pics and current.)

To adopt this sweet and deserving soul, especially given his playmate sister Blondie got adopted in Kelowna, he'd really like a forever home and go out on adventures like his sister.

Oh goodness! Benny has grown a lot since rescue, and eve this baby pic isn't his size when found in snow with his mother, a Great Pyranees mix, and his siblings, two of which had perished due to the severe cold. Benny is the last of litter looking for his forever home, currently being fostered in Sicamous with K9-11 rescue but we can help coordinate transport. Unless want to visit Sicamous, it's a great little warm town!

He is very sweet, now socialized and not so shy, very playful and loves running and playing! Great outdoor adventures type dog, but also like to be with people and relax on the couch.😆. His sister Blondie got a terrific home in Kelowna, and he would love one of his own.😘

Larger when full grown. Great pyr/Shepherd mix. Good natured. Good with dogs and cats. Beautiful boy.❤️

UPDATE HUSKY PUPPY LIVING IN DRAIN PIPE AT GAS STATION:

He is now rescued! After many hours of attempting and waiting it out, the patient rescuer secured the five month old scared partly feral pup.

Do we have anyone that would like to foster who has backyard and good fence. We can counsel how to tame a feral pup. It's not hard, just takes patience, security and kindness. And food!

Please text or PM. No messages here since the group of bullying "rescuers", slanderers and keyboard warriors with made distorted stories are PM messaging people claiming a litany of basically, unbelievable garbage, trying to pan it off as truth. It's not.

JOEY UPDATE: Joey isn't the little starving freezing puppy like he was when found homeless under the dumpster bin just a bit over a year go at dump. He's now in classes learning dock diving, in Search and Find, a super dog wanting nothing more than to learn, be instructed, have a job, receive praise and treats for a job well done. He's not the usual homeless dog there, he's is a Malinois that you see rarely in that area, a working dog that needs a lot of mental and physical work. We've learned there was some breeding going on, and one of the puppies in the litter was at the Cochrane Humane months back. Luckily Joey had someone at the dump at that day and time before attacked further by other male dogs biting and trying to keep him away from the garbage food. Livin' the good life now!

We received an urgent call for help from caller in Banff about a young buck stuck in a fence. They had contacted Parks Canada yet half hour later no one had arrived. We requested exact location from caller and immediately contacted the Banff Fire Department chief on duty who contacted Parks Canada for approval to help, protocol being it was within the Banff Parks jurisdiction, they had to get permission. Banff Fire Crew rapidly responded to the deer emergency after gaining Parks approval and met up with Parks Rescon arriving half hour after original call, between the two departments they calmed the frantic crying deer while a fireman pried the metal pole. Great teamwork and happy to see the deer run gratefully free!🧑‍🚒🦌🌲🌲🌲

We receive calls most weeks about wild animals in distress and yesterday's call was out of our rescue capacity in Banff Park. The poor deer was stuck and body badly squished, crying and struggling when we received the call stating they had called Parks Canada a half hour ago but no response as of yet. We asked caller to send exact location and was going to contact the Fire Department, they arrive quickly and have the tools and experience to handle this. Fire Dept. arrived along with Parks Rescon team and together they pried the bars and helped calm the frantic deer. It's free now:)
