is here!
☀️ There’s no better way to kick off the weekend than with stories that makes you smile. Today we’re celebrating kindness, compassion, and incredible people helping animals in need.
🥰 Tank was surrendered due to no fault of his own. This handsome bear was in great shape, and once he was neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and microchipped, Tank was out of here! You can feel the joy his new dad is projecting and we’re right there with you! We’re so proud and grateful that another deserving dog has been given a second chance. Thank you for choosing adoption!
🩷 Louise! This gorgeous girl made her way to us through animal control, sadly, another stray who went unclaimed. During her intake exam it was noticed Louise had a large wound on her hind end was seen by a veterinary partner and started on a topical treatment. She was spayed while in care of HSHPE, and is now UTD on vaccinations, parasite treatment and has landed herself a lovely family! Congratulations, and thank you for choosing this special girl to share your life with!
🐶 Daphne & Velma arrived in our care as strays in early May. Very sweet, quite shy, but with time and patience these lovely ladies started to gain their confidence. They were adopted to a loving family and will live the rest of their lives together. Congratulations to their new mom and thank you for offering these sisters and best friends, a forever, together.
💛 Ash was born in our care with 5 other puppies. Their mom was surrendered to us, heavily pregnant and gave birth within a week of her arrival. Ash grew up big and strong in a loving foster home who have taken amazing care of Molly (mom) and her puppies! Foster homes offer invaluable support to animals in need! If you’d like to learn more about our foster program, please visit our website- www.humanesocietyhpe.ca
⚡️ Bolt is anther of Molly’s puppies to find her forever this week! This lucky girl was raised in a loving foster home until she was old enough to be adopted. She’s been socialized and well loved by her foster family, and now it’s her turn to leave the nest. Congratulations to her new family, and thank you to her foster family for giving her the very best start in life!
🍾 Champagne! This brave girl was in good spirits as she headed to a veterinary partner for surgery to repair a torn cruciate. She was the perfect patient, and anyone who has the chance to meet this girl has had nothing but the best compliments. Champagne’s Campaign is live as our shelter staff actively fundraise to cover her surgery. If you’re able to give, please consider donating to Champagne’s Campaign. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/humane-society-hastings-prince-edward/p2p/wiggle-waggle-2026/team/champagnes-campaign
🐾 Naruto wouldn’t look at the camera because he’s too focused on his future. This absolute star of a dog waited longer than we anticipated, but he’s found his forever and we’re so happy for him and his dad! While Naruto was with us, he visited with our Rescue Readers, seniors and visitors from long-term living facilities. Naruto brightened the days of many people and we’re happy that it’s his turn to live happily ever after. Congratulations!
🐭 Rosamond, Ethel and Poppyseed are three of the luckiest rats on the planet! Rosamond and Ethel were transferred to us from a partner shelter and Poppyseed was found as a solo rat who was very unwell by a member of the public and brought to us for care. She was seen by a veterinarian and started in antibiotics for an eye infection and once she was feeling better and finished her medication, we noticed she was lonely. Rats are social animals, and Poppyseed needed some friends. It took nearly a month of monitored interaction, supervised visits and exposing them to each others scent but Rosamond and Ethel accepted Poppyseed as their third musketeer and they’re all heading home together! Congratulations to you and thank you for adopting these three precious rats!
😻 Kyleena was dropped off by a concerned citizen a couple weeks ago. She wasn’t claimed, was missing fur, riddled in fleas and appeared to had recently weaned kittens. She was treated for parasites, vaccinated and her fur grew back. Kyleena was booked in for her spay surgery and adopted within 8 days of arriving. Kyleena is going to live a beautiful life surrounded by the love of her new family. Thank you for choosing adoption!
🥳 A huge congratulations to Alex, one of our most recent TV Bingo jackpot winners of $800! What makes this even more exciting is that Alex was a first-time player and walked away with the jackpot, beginner’s luck might just be real!
