Let’s talk about Water Toxicity! 💦

Cooling off your pups in a lake or sprinkler is great on days like today, but they can actually have too much of a good thing, and we call it Water Toxicity!

Dogs who gulp water while playing in lakes or chasing water toys can become rapidly sick with:

- drowsiness/mental changes
- seizures
- loss of coordination or ataxia
- vomiting and drooling
- pale gums
- collapse

It is so important to get your dog straight to the ER when you notice these symptoms, as this can be very life threatening. ‼️ Be cautious playing in the water, and keep cool out there! 💧

Rushnell Family presented HSHPE with a $38,600 cheque from the proceeds of the Rushnell Charity Classic at the Trillium Wood Golf Club on Friday June 6, 2025. Thanks to the efforts and generosity of all the sponsors, auction donors, and 148 golfers, the 2nd Golf Tournament raised $12,600 more than last year. With many grateful thanks and appreciation from everyone associated with HSHPE including all its furry friends!
