Mosquitoes can spread heart worm to pets with just one bite - which is why prevention is so important.

We recommend keeping pets protected from June through November with monthly heartworm prevention and routine testing. 🐾

Prevention is simple, safe, and much easier than treating heart worm disease later.

Black fly season is here! 🪰

Those pesky bites can leave pets itchy, uncomfortable, and irritated — especially around the ears, belly, and areas with thinner fur. While most bites are harmless, some pets can have stronger reactions that cause swelling, redness, or excessive scratching.

Tips to help protect your pet:
✔ Avoid walks near wooded or swampy areas during peak times
✔ Limit outdoor time at dawn and dusk when flies are most active
✔ Keep up with recommended parasite prevention
✔ Watch for signs of irritation or infection
✔ Ask us about Tick End spray to help protect against fleas, ticks, and biting insects during high-risk seasons

☀ Victoria Day Long Weekend Safety Tips 🐾

Before you kick off the long weekend, remember:
✔ Keep pets away from BBQ skewers, onions, grapes, and alcohol
✔ Make sure pets have shade and fresh water outdoors
✔ Fireworks can be stressful - keep pets indoors and secure
✔ Check for ticks after hikes and cottage adventures!

At 14 years young, this adorable terrier mix came in for his Librela injection to help keep him feeling more comfortable and mobile.

Since it's Arthritis Awareness Month, Carlos wanted to remind everyone that senior pets deserve support to stay happy, active, and enjoy life. If you've noticed changes in your pets mobility, give us a call to talk about ways we can help. 💙
