Meet Elsa (bottom) ❄️ and Olaf (top) ⛄️— besties… most of the time! The kind of friendship that comes with a little chaos, a lot of personality, and just enough mischief to keep things interesting 🥰

Today, they’re visiting LeGallais Veterinary Hospital to see Dr Aidin for their annual wellness exams and vaccine updates. Routine check-ups are key to keeping pets happy, healthy, and thriving — even the ones who love to bug each other 🐾💉

Please feel free to give us a call and we’d be happy to help book your furry family in for their next annual wellness exams, a clean bill of health means more time for playful antics and lifelong friendship 💕

Meet Kit 🐾

Kit came in for their very first puppy exam with Dr. Nina, and let’s just say… this brave little one completely stole our hearts! From tail wags to curious sniffs, Kit handled everything like a pro.

First puppy visits are more than just cuddles (though we love those too!) they’re an important step in setting your pup up for a healthy life. One key part of that? F***l testing.
Puppies are especially prone to intestinal parasites, which are not always visible but can impact their growth, digestion, and overall wellbeing. Early screening helps us catch and treat anything before it becomes a bigger issue.
We also use these visits to start vaccination plans, discuss nutrition, and answer any questions you might have as your puppy settles into their new home.

Say hello to Mozart — bringing the chill vibes we all need to start the week 🤩

Mozart recently visited the clinic to see the wonderful Dr. Nina for a recheck following treatment for some gastrointestinal upset 💩. We’re so happy to share that he’s now back to his normal, comfortable, and cool self 😸

A big thank you to for sharing this adorable update with us — nothing makes our team happier than hearing our patients are feeling their best at home 💕

April is Heartworm Prevention Awareness Month 💚🐶🐱
Did you know heartworms are spread through mosquito bites? When an infected mosquito bites your dog or cat, it can transmit tiny larvae that grow into worms living in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels—causing serious and sometimes fatal damage.
📈 Heartworm cases are on the rise in Ontario, with veterinary clinics reporting increasing positive cases over the past few years.
🌡️ Heartworm season begins when temperatures rise above 14°C (57°F), allowing larvae to develop. In our region, prevention should start in early spring (April) and continue through late fall (November).
🩺 Important: A 4Dx blood test (heartworm test) is required before starting or renewing prevention. This test screens for heartworm and other vector-borne diseases, ensuring it’s safe to give medication and catching infections early—before symptoms appear.
💊 Heartworm disease is 100% preventable with vet-prescribed medications—but only when used properly and consistently.
📞 Need help protecting your pet this season? Call Legallais Veterinary Hospital at 905-713-2366 to get your pet tested and set up with the right prevention plan.
Don’t wait—protect your pet’s heart before mosquito season takes off!
