AGILITY TRIAL LOCALLY!!!
If you would like to see one of the sports we do with our dogs we are competing on Saturday arvo into the night at Elimbah. This is one of only 2 competitions closer than 90mins away we get each year. Best to leave your dogs at home but you can talk to mine. Starts at 3pm

A bakers dozen and that's it. 7 easter eggers and 6 australorp babies. Now for them to grow. Eat sleep and p**p. They are soooo cute!!

IMPORTANT
If we am minding your animals over Easter and beyond please make sure you have informed your vet that we are caring for your pets and stock. This is very important. If anything happens vets may refuse to treat if they have not had permission from you while under my care. Moreton Bay puts a note on your file so they know immediately if I ring regarding an illness or injury.

3 days till hatching!! Will soon have Easter eggers and australorp chicks (std size birds). The plan is to grow these up and sell them on as "off heat chicks", "pullets", or "Point of lay" birds. Heritage breeds only. The easter eggers are cross bred birds that lay coloured eggs. My next batch in the incubator will be Pekins.
I currently have 1 salmon favarole and 2 bantam chocolate Orpington chicks looking for a home in a few weeks (just over 4wks old today)

Good Morning Everyone,

Leanne here. With our recent price rise I would like to give you a little bit of a comparison based on what other groomers do and how they structure their price compared to us:

Lets take the Border Collie as we do quite a lot of them. Our base price for a BC on a monthly schedule is $65. This is the price you pay after your initial visit which can be more due to work involved with getting the dogs coat where it should be.

Now what does this $65 include you say? It includes their bath, a deshedding treatment, full blow dry, brushing, nails trimmed, ears cleaned and feet trimmed.

Now lets look at what another groomer in the area charges:
Medium Breed $45 – Bath, blow-dry, brush
Nail Trim $10
Ear Cleaning $10
De-shedding Treatment $85
Doesn’t trim feet
Total cost (after adding on all those ‘extra’ charges) $150

The only additional charge we have is a ‘matting fee’ which is based on what work needs to be done to remove the mats by hand, not by just cutting them out, which we only do as a last resort if the matt is that close to the skin that it causes the dog pain if we try to brush it.

Be sure to compare apples with apples when you think that our prices are too high, because I can assure you that they are very reasonable compared to the majority and quite honestly still too low even with the current price rise, but we try to look after our clients as much as we can but we also need to ensure that we are covering the costs of running a business which is very demanding in this current economic state. This is NOT an easy job, it is a very physical and demanding job with a high risk of injury when working with animals that can do some major damage if they choose.
