Ouch! π΅πΎ
This handsome Kelpie pup, Zeus, came to see us after a backyard adventure gone wrong! While playing at home, he unfortunately fell onto a cactus and ended up with a thorn lodged in his carpus (wrist).
Dr Tamath carefully removed the thorn on Tuesday under sedation, and Zeus was an absolute superstar throughout his visit π Heβs now on the road to recovery and feeling much more comfortable.
After his procedure, Zeus enjoyed plenty of cuddles and reassurance from our friendly nurses, Dani and Tarsha, who made sure he felt safe, loved and extra spoiled while he recovered π₯°πΆ
Cactus thorns and other sharp garden hazards can easily become embedded in paws and joints, which can be painful and lead to infection if not treated promptly. If your pet comes in from outside limping, licking excessively, or showing signs of discomfort, itβs always best to have them checked.
Weβre so proud of brave little Zeus πΆβ¨ and we canβt wait to see him back to his happy, zoomy self!
If youβre ever unsure about an injury, give our friendly team at Gawler Veterinary Services a call β weβre here to help.
