📸✨ Flashback Friday ✨📸

Five years ago today, Dr. Sue and Dr. Alex were in surgery with one of the largest pyometras they'd encountered in many years.

The patient was a much-loved fur family member named Cassie. ❤️🐾

This photo was taken in our old hospital, and every time we look back at it, we're reminded not only of Cassie's incredible journey, but also of how far we've come as a team and a hospital.

💙 But Cassie's story also carries an important message.

Pyometra is a severe infection of the uterus that most commonly affects undesexed female dogs. It can rapidly lead to sepsis, making it a life-threatening emergency.

Without urgent treatment, it can be fatal.

When Cassie came through our doors, surgery was her best chance. Thanks to quick action, skilled care, and a dedicated team working together, she was able to return home to the family who loved her.

💡 One of the most important benefits of desexing is that it dramatically reduces the risk of pyometra developing.

While every dog and every family is different, stories like Cassie's remind us how valuable preventative healthcare can be.

Looking at this photo also makes us incredibly grateful.

Five years ago, we were performing complex, life-saving surgeries in our old hospital. Today, we're privileged to care for our fur patients in a purpose-built, state-of-the-art veterinary hospital equipped with advanced surgical facilities, intensive care capabilities, and the technology to help us provide an even higher level of care.

Tiny hooves. Warm bottles. Sleepless nights. 🐑💛

This week, we had the absolute privilege of babysitting little Babe while her family had to travel for work. At just four days old, her family were understandably worried about finding the right place for such a tiny lamb to stay.

So Babe came to hospital for a few days of cuddles, feeds, warmth, and round-the-clock care with our team. 🍼✨

Now, she’s already over a week old and growing more confident (and cheeky!) every single day. Watching her tiny personality come to life has completely melted our hearts.

Babe is a beautiful Merino cross lamb, and caring for her has been such a special reminder that building healthy families comes in all shapes, sizes, and species. 🩺🐾

We’re here for you, whether your family members have paws, hooves, feathers, or fur. 💛

These cuties have just had their vet checks and vaccinations and are now looking for their forever homes 🐾

Their hobbies include waddling, napping, and completely destroying our self-control 🥹

While they’re still a little too young for desexing, they can head into foster-to-adopt homes now, with desexing included in their adoption fee once they’re old enough.

Each puppy will go home:
