Spring is here, summer is just around the corner, and as our hospital gets busier, we’re looking for some wonderful people to join us at Lake Road Veterinary Hospital.

Whether you love helping people, caring for hospital patients, working behind the scenes, or you’re a veterinary student looking for hands-on experience, we have several opportunities available.

🌻 CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

📞 RECEPTIONIST | PART TIME

Be one of the friendly faces and voices helping our clients navigate appointments, questions and the sometimes emotional moments that come with caring for a much-loved pet.

🩺 ADMIN ASSISTANT | CONSULTATIONS

Work alongside our veterinary team to help keep consultations running smoothly.

This role supports client communication, administration, estimates, follow-ups and all the little things that help a busy hospital day flow.

🌙 CASUAL NIGHT NURSES & ANIMAL ATTENDANTS

For the night owls!

Help care for our hospitalised and emergency patients during our late and overnight shifts.

These roles are an important part of keeping our 24-hour hospital running smoothly and providing continuity of care through the night.

🚑 CASUAL ICU NURSES & ANIMAL ATTENDANTS

Join our hospital and ICU team supporting patients who need closer monitoring, ongoing treatment and plenty of TLC.

A great opportunity for people who enjoy hands-on patient care and working closely with vets, nurses and the wider hospital team.

🎓 VETERINARY STUDENT CASUALS

Currently studying veterinary science?

Come and spend some of your weekends, university breaks or summer holidays with us.

Gain hands-on experience in a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital while working alongside our vets, nurses and patient care team.

Say hello to Jimmy and Ted!

Two very different dogs facing the same problem...

Jimmy and Ted come from different families but found themselves both in our hospital at the same time for treatment of perineal hernias.

Thanks to major surgery and determined post-op management by our hospital staff we are happy to report that both boys are now doing well and on their ways to full recoveries. 💜

Thank you to their families for entrusting us with their care.

💥 Power Outage 💥

We are currently experiencing a planned power outage due to maintenance work. We are still monitoring patients and are open for emergencies. Our phones are currently down with the outage, if you have a emergency please present straight to the clinic.

We hope to have the power back on by 1pm today ☺️

⚠️ POWER OUTAGE UPDATE

We’re currently experiencing a power outage at Lake Road Veterinary Hospital, which is affecting our phones and some of our systems.

We are still here and continuing to care for patients, just at a limited capacity while power is restored.

📞 If our phones are cutting in and out and you have an emergency but cannot get through, please head straight down to the hospital. We are still accepting and triaging emergencies as usual.

🐾 If you have a patient currently in hospital, please be reassured that our team is continuing their care. We’ll be in touch with updates later today once our power and phone systems are fully operational again.

Come check out all the different training opportunities we offer here at Lake Road Vet for you and your dogs! 🐾

✅Have a new puppy under 6 months old? Puppy Preschool is the place for you! Classes run for 4 weeks and help you build a solid foundation with your puppy with both training and health advice.

✅Already finished Puppy Preschool and looking for more? The Next Step Program is a great choice, all age of dog are welcome! Learn some fun tricks and practical skills as well as discussing all about behaviour to help you communicate with your dogs better and build a stronger relationship! This group program also runs for 4 weeks.

✅Have specific behaviours you're struggling with? Wanting to take your training further? Maybe your dog just isn't a fan of group classes but you still want to teach them all the skills. For all other training help you can book a One on One session. These sessions can be more flexible to suit your schedule. You will have an individualised lesson made for the day and will receive a written summary of the lesson after each session, with continued support via email between sessions!

All of our training opportunities are run by our very own Canine Educator in our dedicated training space right here at the clinic. This can also be a great way to help dogs be more comfortable coming in to the vet as they build a strong positive association by having training here.
