EXCITING NEWS!! 🎉🎉
Our own nurse Bec has been appointed as Apiam’s first Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) - a new role created to champion our incredible veterinary nurses and strengthen their voice across our clinics.
Bec will lead initiatives focused on career pathways, training frameworks, consistent clinical standards and the full utilisation of nursing skills across all clinics.
Bec will de dedicating one day each week to this role, while continuing in her regular position here with us at Torquay North Vet.
This role is all about uplifting the profession and empowering our nursing teams to deliver the very best care — an exciting step forward, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact!

Hey everyone!
We will be closed on Tuesday 4th of November for Melbourne Cup Day, our awesome team at Highton Village Vet will still be open on this day and can answer any enquiries you may have, their number is 5296 0400.
Giddy up and enjoy the races! We shall see you again on Wednesday 5th of November with our normal opening hours 8am-6pm.

🦷✨ Buddy was the sweetest, snuggliest boy✨🦷

He came in for his dental scale and polish with Nurse Bec and our awesome vet, Dr Claire — and he was an absolute superstar the whole time! 💛

After his procedure, Buddy was all about the cuddles (and we weren’t complaining 🥰). Fresh breath, clean teeth, and plenty of love — what more could we ask for?

🐾 Big boy Albus the Boerboel came in last week for a social visit here at Torquay North Vet 💙 At just 16 weeks old, he’s already an impressive 35kg — and still growing! 😍

Dr Sarah and Nurse Bec attended the annual Vet Expo at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The expo offered a huge range of learning opportunities – from 🐾 nurse empowerment, 💉 surgery & anaesthetics, 🏥 emergency training, 🦷 dental skills, and 📊 practice management, to networking with industry suppliers.

✨ Highlights:
• Nurse Bec loved the sessions on the future of vet nursing and the push for mandatory nurse registration – one of her passions.
• She also attended talks on how nurses can expand their role in clinics, plus emergency and surgical skills.
• Both Sarah and Bec brought back goodies 🎁 to share with the team!

Events like this help our staff grow their skills and bring fresh knowledge back to the clinic – all to ensure the very best care for our patients and clients ❤️🐶🐱.
