We have some exciting news to share! 🌟🎉🌟🎉🌟
Being a volunteer is a highly rewarding experience, however it can also be challenging due to lack of resources and the number of birds needing help. For a long time volunteers and members of public alike have been calling for us to formalise our rescue efforts so that we can expand our capacity to help these wonderful birds. Public awareness around the plight of pigeons has also grown substantially in recent times and this is an exciting opportunity to create a more hopeful and humane future for pigeons in NSW through rescue, advocacy and education.
To achieve the above objectives, we are excited to announce that we have recently registered Sydney Pigeon Rescue Inc. as a not for profit incorporated association. Our next steps are to register it as a charity and apply for Deductible Gift Recipient status (so that donations will be tax deductible). We are hopeful that this will provide much needed funds to enable us to help more feathered souls.
In the coming months we will hold an election for the appointment of new office bearers and committee members. We invite you all to join us on this journey by applying to be a member of the organisation so you can vote in the election. Application forms will be available shortly.
