Our GutzBusta Slow Feed Hay Nets were designed and developed over 8 years ago by myself as I realized there was a need to supply the horse industry with quality slow feed hay nets. It deeply saddened me to see horses and ponies locked up in small yards or stables with nothing to eat. Developing these hay nets gave horse and livestock owners more options for easy and cost-effective management.
Can help reduce incidence of choke by stopping gorging, and only allowing a few strands of hay to be eaten at once.
Have been noted to assist in having happier, healthier horses that are less aggressive towards their mates as they ALWAYS have something to eat, particularly if they are on a dirt lot, paddock paradise track, stabled, or yarded. Fantastic for drought conditions where every last stalk of hay is precious.
Since starting this business we have made many positive changes to our sizing, strength and therefore longevity of our products. We now offer what we consider to be the largest variety of generous sized hay nets in Australia. Our hay nets are tried and tested for over 8 years. There are other hay net imitations now available, however we have the advantage of knowing how the netting behaves over time and have therefore adapted our products to make sure our nets are superior. As they say, ‘imitation is the strongest form of flattery’! We are staying at the current ply thicknesses that we have as going to thicker ply’s will result in thicker and bigger knots that are more likely to attract horses into chewing the knots. There can be such a thing as too much of a good thing.
