Knotted or knotless? πŸ€” Here's the difference...

Knotted nets are the tried and true option, tough and built to handle tougher conditions. Knotless nets have a smooth finish that's easier on teeth and gums, a good pick for sensitive horses or if comfort is your priority.

Both work brilliantly for slow feeding, it just comes down to what suits your horse best. Visit our website for more info on the difference 🌐 www.aussiegrazers.com.au

Filling your Hay-Saver the right way makes all the difference 🌾

The trick? Fluff your biscuits before you pack them in, don't compress a full bale. Half to two-thirds of a small bale, fluffed as you go, gives your horse the easiest access while still slowing them right down.

Ever wonder how much of your round bale is actually being eaten, versus how much is ending up trampled on? 🐴

We had a bale fed loose and a bale fed in a hay net photographed over the same few weeks. The loose bale was gone by day 7, but a good chunk of that wasn't eaten, it was wasted. The netted bale was still going strong at day 7, and lasted till day 16! 😦

A hay net doesn't change how much your animals eat. It changes how much of the bale actually reaches them instead of ending up on the ground. βœ”οΈβ

Huge thank you to My Hay Guy (Sunshine Coast) for sending these photos through so we could share them with you!

5x4 Knotless Round Bale Net 🐴

"Great quality. Reduces wastage and stops horses trashing the bale and urinating all over it. Keeps them occupied when grazing is not available." – Heike F.

Thank you Heike for the review and the pic and review! This is exactly why we love the knotless design, less mess, less waste, and horses staying happily occupied instead of trashing the bale.

Hay isn't just food in winter, it's a heater! πŸ˜€β

When horses digest fibre, it creates heat from the inside out. That's why good quality hay matters even more in winter, it's basically an internal heater πŸ”₯🐴

As grass slows down over winter, your horse relies more on hay to fill the gap and stay warm. Sizing up your hole can help more get through, while still keeping that slow-feed benefit.

Keep an eye on their condition and make sure water isn't freezing cold, dehydration and colic risk can go up in winter too. 🐴

Thanks Paula for the review of our Deluxe Knotless Medium Hay Net πŸ΄πŸ’–β

FYI from Paula: she's had a full bale net for about 8 years and it's still in full working condition! 🐴 That's the kind of durability we love!
