What's the most unconventional name you've given one of your bugs? πŸ€”πŸ•·οΈ

We started off with Fluffy, our very first bug - a Flinders Ranges Scorpion. πŸ¦‚

But if you've visited our bug room over the last few months and have a keen eye, you might've spotted Mortein, our SP Black. 🀭

Now we want to know... what are your weirdest, funniest, or most unexpected bug names? πŸ‘‡

We gifted 43 tarantulas to Camo's Reptiles for his incredible personal display! πŸ•·οΈ

If you've visited our insect room recently, you may have noticed the larger enclosure housing a colony of baby tarantulas living alongside their mum. Last week we carefully pulled the enclosure apart and counted a whopping 58 babies!

Of those 58:
πŸ•·οΈ 10 babies will be staying with mum in our display.
πŸ•·οΈ 5 are heading off to start a small colony for one of our lovely customers.
πŸ•·οΈ And the remaining 43 have moved into Camo's mammoth bioactive tarantula enclosure.

His setup is seriously impressive, featuring live plants, fans for air circulation, a clean-up crew, regulated heating, and a cool watering system that keeps the substrate perfectly damp without leaving water spots all over the glass.

We can't wait to see how this enclosure transforms once it's covered in webbing and to see how the plants stand up to a species that absolutely loves to decorate with silk! Stay tuned for updates. πŸ•ΈοΈ
