Our Head Trainer, Georgia, is currently overseas and will be unavailable until 22 August.

During this time:

🎓 Congratulations to Cara, Agnes, Bibble, Gucci & Harmony! 🐾💛

Well done to these awesome teams on completing our 6-week Life Skills Course! It has been such a pleasure watching each dog build their confidence, strengthen their skills and make fantastic progress over the past six weeks.

Our Life Skills Course is made up of two 3-week blocks. The first focuses on building foundation skills, while the second develops those skills further with loose lead walking, recall, emotional learning and learning to regulate around distractions.

A special shout out also goes to Reggie, who isn't pictured. After graduating from his own Life Skills Course, Reggie joined in our Saturday group to complete another Core Skills 3 week block! We love seeing dogs continue their training journey, and Reggie is a great example that learning doesn't stop at graduation.

🎓 Congratulations to Reggie, Walker & Brooks! 🐾💛

A huge congratulations to these three teams on completing our 6-week Life Skills Course! It has been so rewarding watching their confidence grow and seeing all the hard work their families have put into their training.

Our Life Skills Course is made up of two 3-week blocks. The first stage focuses on building strong foundation skills, while the second stage progresses onto more advanced exercises including loose lead walking, recall and emotional regulation around distractions.

One of the things we love most about this course is watching dogs and their owners grow together each week. While this marked the end of their first 6 weeks, it's certainly not the end of their training journey.

Training is an ongoing process, and many of our clients choose to continue attending our 3-week Core Skills blocks to keep building on these skills and practising in a supportive group environment ✨

Before we explain more about what we do, we wanted to congratulate these amazing teams for their commitment and dedication to their dogs in completing our Calm & Confident group course.

Now, a bit more about this course...

For the past few years, we've offered a specialised course that has been specifically designed for dogs that have big feelings about other dogs and/or people! We designed this course because we've worked with many clients over the years who progress with their training to a point where we've thought, what now? For the dogs that are ready for the next stage, we bring together a small group of dogs and people to run a class specifically designed to help these dogs and their humans navigate these everyday situations in a controlled, supportive setting.

We only offer these courses to existing clients who have worked with us in a one-to-one capacity and where we feel they're ready for the next step. It's a great way to continue building their skills and training, while also connecting with others who are experiencing similar challenges.

It's important to point out that regular group classes ARE NOT a suitable starting point for dogs that may react to other dogs and/or people in their environment. A regular class set-up is simply too overwhelming for dogs that struggle to remain calm and relaxed in the presence of others. That's why we work with these dogs individually first, before considering whether a specialised group setting is appropriate for them.

No two courses are the same. We tailor and review every course specifically for the dogs and people attending. We're super proud to be the only providers offering this kind of specialised service here in Melbourne's eastern suburbs! 💛

‼️ LEPTOSPIROSIS CASE ‼️

🚨HEALTH ALERT: Leptospirosis Case Confirmed & New Vaccine Available🚨

Dear Pet Parents,
We want to share an important health update to keep our local furry community safe. Our clinic recently treated a confirmed case of Leptospirosis.

Leptospirosis is a serious, life-threatening bacterial infection that targets a dog's liver and kidneys. Even more concerning, it is zoonotic, meaning it can be passed from pets to humans.
💧 How Does It Spread?
The bacteria is spread through the urine of infected wildlife and rodents. Dogs usually become infected by:
• Drinking from puddles, creeks, or stagnant water
• Swimming or walking through contaminated water or mud
• Sniffing or licking damp soil where wildlife or rats have been
⚠️ Symptoms to Watch For
If your dog shows any of these signs, please contact a vet immediately:
• Extreme lethargy or weakness
• Vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite
• Fever or severe muscle soreness
• Jaundice (yellow gums or whites of the eyes)
• Changes in urination or blood in the urine
🛡️The Good News: A New, Improved Vaccine is Here!
Because we have seen this disease close to home, we want to make sure your dogs have the absolute best protection. We have just received supply of an improved Leptospirosis vaccine.
Unlike older versions, this new vaccine is specifically designed to protect against multiple strains of the bacteria, offering much broader and more reliable coverage for the Yarra Valley.
📅 What You Need to Do Next
If your dog loves walking through local trails, splashing in puddles, or exploring rural properties, they are at risk
• If your dog is unvaccinated: Start their defense now.
