Friday is usually reserved for my own dogs but when a client messaged to say she was picking up this cutey from the pound today and he was heading in to be desexed on the weekend I definitely found the time.

Hugo was such a gentleman, he wasnt sure what was happening at first but soon settled into the groom and I was rewarded with lots of smiles and cuddles. Hugo will be available for adoption soon through Desperate for love rescue, we don't think it'll take too long for him to find his forever family 💞

Bit of a change of pace today, I attended a creative model dog workshop with the wonderful Tania at Professional Dog Grooming Training - PDGT. Jeffrey Bob (named by the kids) was very well behaved and enjoyed getting his wings and flower 🌺. So much fun learning a new skill and spending the day with other groomers 🥰

I love a clipped cocker... Is not a statement you would usually expect from someone who breeds and exhibits this loveable breed. But I'll stand by those words. Cocker Spaniels, while not as full on as their working counterparts, are still a working breed and they love an adventure, whether it's a trip to the park, beach or camping in the bush. Keeping a cocker in full coat is a big commitment and shouldn't be a requirement to wanting these dogs as part of your life. If clipping them off means happy owners and a happy dog I'll do it any day of the week 💚

After spending the last 8 weeks on puppy duty I figured it was about time I got out of the house and spent some quality time with my main man (of the canine variety). So off to WestGroom 2026 we went and despite going in with waayyyy too much coat I was very honored to recieve 1st in the Advanced Class and Best In Group! 💐🥇🎉

Big thankyou to the judges Wendy Wouters and Kirsty Hunt, Dog Groomers Association of Western Australia for putting on another cracking WestGroom with the support of the event sponsors DGS Imports , igroomhub.com.au, WA Dog Grooming Supplies , Fetch Grooming Supplies , Simply Seaweed , Heiniger Grooming - Australia & New Zealand , Petway Petcare and OZ Clipper and Scissor.

Whiskey is groomed with Artero Australia and Topiary Dog products and nourished with Frontier Pets Pet Food.

Some very exciting news to share at Topiary Dog. Our precious girl Willow who many of you have met and seen her and her collection of ribbons grow over the years is expecting some babies at the end of March! 🩷💙

We will be taking a couple of weeks off from the 30th March to the 13th April to help Willow take care of her little beans while they are the most vulnerable.
