🖤 FOUNDER STORY | PART 2 — THE DOGS WHO SAVED ME 🐾
Behind Pimp My Paws, there is a story that not everyone knows.
For 15 years, I lived through domestic violence. Along the way, I experienced injuries and PTSD that have affected my life in ways people cannot always see. Some days, the impact is physical. Other days, it is mental. And sometimes, simply getting through the day takes more strength than people realise.
There were times when I felt like I had nobody.
But there was one thing that never stopped bringing light into my world — dogs. ❤️
Their unconditional love, their loyalty, their ability to make you smile when your heart is hurting, and the comfort they bring without needing to know your story… they helped me through some of the darkest chapters of my life.
Dogs never judged me for struggling. They reminded me that there was still love, kindness and purpose in this world.
And somewhere along the way, my love for them became something bigger.
I wanted to build something of my own. Something that gave me purpose, allowed me to work within my physical and mental limitations, and gave me the opportunity to turn my passion into a future.
That is part of why I created Pimp My Paws. 🐾
My injuries and PTSD have affected my ability to work full-time, and building a business has not been an easy road. There are days when I wish I could do more, grow faster and achieve everything I dream of.
But I keep showing up in the ways I can.
I keep learning. I keep building. I keep dreaming.
My vision has always been bigger than grooming dogs. I want Pimp My Paws to become a trusted, welfare-first pet care brand where animals are treated with compassion, clients feel valued, and every service reflects genuine care.
Am I successful yet? Not in all the ways I hope to be.
But I am still here. I am still trying. And I am still believing that one day, the business I have worked so hard to build will become what I know it can be.
Because success isn't always about how quickly you grow. Sometimes, it is about finding the courage to start again when life has given you every reason to give up.
To every person rebuilding their life, living with invisible struggles, or trying to turn their pain into purpose — I see you. You are allowed to take a different path. You are allowed to grow at your own pace. And you are allowed to dream of something better.
And to the dogs who gave me comfort when I needed it most: this little business is, in many ways, my way of giving some of that love back. 🐶❤️
