**FOUND**
This beautiful girl was bought to us from Jindalee yesterday. She was found collapsed and in a bad way. Our team worked hard to stabilise her and she is doing well this morning.

She is approximately 15 years old, no desexing tattoo or collar. She is microchipped but the chip isn't registered.

**Please contact the clinic on 93063911 if you think this girl might belong to you.**
We will only keep her here for 3 days.

Many would have heard by now of the impending Avian Influenza issue facing Australia. 2 cases have been confirmed in Western Australia and we therefore will need to put protocols in place at Veterinary Hospitals as to how we receive, handle, process consults with regards to pet birds/ backyard poultry and wildlife. As we put together these protocols and post them in the next few days, please can we ask that any avian visit to our hospital (Including injured wildlife birds) is preceded by a phone call so we can properly assess risk. In some cases you may be asked to wait in the car and be seen as a curb-side consult. We ask that everyone please remain patient and understanding as we navigate this. We want to continue to offer a high standard of care to all patients but at the same time doing this safely and in a responsible manner.

Dr Tammy and Dr Aimee doing some amazing work to repair a very delicate surgical fracture repair on a puppy this week. A lot of planning went into this to get the plate perfectly aligned between the top and bottom growth plates of the bone so as to not affect growth. The fracture also proved rather difficult as they had to avoid displacing the fragment but still ensuring it was held in place. The plate is a special locking plate that uses screws that lock into the plate (there is a thread on the screw head and in the hole of the plate). This allows very sturdy post-operative stability to allow the best bone healing.
