MEMORY MONDAY - 2021 v NOW

K9SA ASH (now Tactical Working Dog ASH) came from our very 1st Virtus House Kennel Litter (we had transitioned away from NON VACTRO KENNELS which had become outdated).

Coming from the powerhouse coupling of K9SA KIBBY & K9SA WEST, the ALPHA Litter was everything I'd hoped it would be - strong, trainable malinois stock.
VHK ASH was the only one in the whole pack to come out long haired so naturally I was drawn to the odd one out & decided to develop him on a gut feeling (sometimes it happens like that).
And did it pay off!!!!! ASH had WEST's drive combined with KIBBY's thick nerves & smarts.
He really did develop into the perfect package which made him an obvious choice for a Tactical Police Unit who work in small teams & close quarters.
They needed a stable dog that could thread between the operators, choosing the correct target, not be a mindless landmark.
So off he went, moving overseas & integrating seamlessly with his new pack.
The photo on the left is ASH at 12 weeks of age & on the right we fast forward 5 years where he is an accomplished Tactical Working Dog.

The goodest of good boys!

K9SA ASH....out in the wild (bred & developed by K9SA) featured in Flashbang Magazine

Today is world dog’s day !
I know my world wouldn’t be the same without them…

Our youngster has just taken a step into a much larger world!

K9SA DUO just had his very first bite on a 'bad guy' (hidden sleeve).
He initially wants to go high for a nibble (I laugh at what a savage he is on his 1st go!).

We than get a full mouth bite & a crazy, high speed, wagging tail of approval.

This young malinois is going to keep me on my toes.

As always, Alicia at West Coast Canine was gracious enough to let us use the facilities so thank you 🙏

West Coast Canine & Paul Ludwig of IrondogK9 hosted a fantastic seminar over the weekend & I was lucky enough to get a working spot.
Getting to push my young dogs with some well thought out scenarios was more than I could have asked for!
