In scrubby or bushy regions, summer can equal snakes! 🐍

If you visit areas with your dog where venomous snakes could be present, it’s best to keep your pet on a short lead by your side. It’s also a good idea to be aware of the more common symptoms of snake bite, which can include:
✅ Temporary collapse
✅ Weakness or wobbliness
✅ Muscle tremors
✅ Large pupils
✅ Loss of bladder or bowel control
✅ Dark or bloody discoloured urine

⚠️ If you ever suspect your pet has been bitten by a snake, try to stay calm and seek immediate veterinary treatment.

“Why does my dog keep getting ear infections?” 👂

Whilst any dog can develop a one-off ear issue, some unlucky pets seem to have a predisposition to problems.

Recurrent ear infections in dogs are commonly secondary to underlying allergies (such as environmental or food allergies) but can also occur in dogs who swim frequently, breeds with droopy ears such as spaniels, and breeds with naturally narrow ear canals such as Shar Peis.

If your pet suffers from recurrent ear infections, it’s best to book a consult and lend us your ears, as there are lots we can offer to help manage the issue. 📞
