Meet Dutch! Our March pet of the month 🫡🦸🏽‍♂️🐶🥰

Dutch first came in to see Dr Shaun for a regular check up and chat about ongoing skin issues. During his check-up, we noticed a new lump on his ear and took a closer look. Testing showed it was a mast cell tumour, so we promptly went ahead and surgically removed it later that week!

Dutch is healing really well, and thanks to Dr Shaun you can barely notice what’s happened! His sutures are due to come out in early April ❤️

Chester's big 12th birthday!
A little bit about FLUTD (Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease) It affects a cat's bladder and urethra and can cause symptoms such as straining to urinate, frequent attempts to urinate, blood in the urine, or urinating outside the litter tray. If you ever notice your cat straining, producing little or no urine, or showing signs of discomfort when trying to urinate, it is important to seek veterinary assistance as soon as possible. Urinary issues can quickly become life-threatening, particularly in male cats if a blockage occurs, so prompt treatment is vital to protect your cat's health and prevent serious complications!

Meet Cooper 🐶💛 — this brave boy came in with an aural hematoma (that’s a swollen, blood-filled pocket in the ear flap).

This can happen when pets shake or scratch their ears too much, often due to ear infections, allergies, or ear mites. Cooper’s hematoma was large enough to need surgery, where we drained the blood and stitched the ear to help it heal flat.

He’s now on the mend, feeling much happier, and rocking his post-op ear look! 👏🐾

If your pet is shaking their head, scratching their ears, or has a swollen ear flap, book a check-up right away — early treatment makes all the difference.
