Mell's Dog Minding

Mell's Dog Minding In home care for a small number of small breed dogs. Caring for your dog, is what I care about. A few nights training for the greater good, is recommended.

Growing up in Nthn NSW & Sthn Qld, my Mother bred & exhibited pedigree dogs. I also did what was normal in that sort of household, going through child & junior handlers & assist my Mum in the show ring. Learning a lot about dogs, their nature, and handling them during my formative years, I am now putting that to use minding dogs for others. I work P/T as a Receptionist at a Sports Medicine Centre

, and as our last dog has crossed the rainbow bridge a few years back, for the passed 7 yrs have been balancing my work & minding doggies. I generally have up to 4 - 5 social doggies stay at the one time, but in busy periods will push it to 6, but never more than this. I find that there is enough space in our small home for everyone to find their own safe space or to run amok with a new found friend. Please remember your dog is coming into my home, to be cared for with love, but it is still my home. Your dog should be toilet trained, which means they let us know if they need to go out if doors are shut in colder weather, though we do have a doggie door. It is preferable, that dogs that sleep on beds are moved into the laundry 2 weeks prior to their stay. Scratching at doors, barking through the night, because it keeps you awake, well this will keep my family awake also. Your dog is coming to an environment were other dogs will be, so vaccinations must be current, and should be clean & flea free. Dogs that have bad body odour & are found to have fleas will be bathed & treated at an extra expense to the owner. As with any normal family, we have comings & goings - to work, school p/up, sports etc just like your family. If you make an arrangement to drop off or collect your dog, I do appreciate punctuality, so we can all continue with our day in a timely manner.

Just Rosie on the morning walk, she gets all snuggled into 1 of the beds after she's had her treatie.
She either hates having her photo taken or feels guilty about something. 😃

Very proud morning, as the lanky child, who's been here to help with drop ins, pick ups, tummy tickles and cosy cuddles has flown the coop.
Lliam had his intake ceremony with the ADF - Army this morning and is probably eating some sort of brown mystery meat for dinner. 😁
