We are a not-for-profit organisation established in 1990 to rescue, treat and rehome dogs. K9 Rescue Group strives to educate the community about responsible dog ownership. We provide a regional service in Western Australia to the Peel, Rockingham, Kwinana and Cockburn areas. At K9 Rescue Group we are passionate about creating an environment where a dog is treated as a rightful and respected membe

r of the community. We have over a hundred volunteers who work tirelessly to successfully rehome around 400 dogs a year, and seek to promote the significant benefits that pet ownership brings to the community.

Meet Darla! A 3yo Blue Heeler mix with a big heart and a strong desire to please! Darla is smart, eager, and loves learning new things. She thrives when she has a job to do and will really shine in a home that understands working breeds and can give her structure, training, and enrichment.

In the right home, Darla will absolutely thrive. She’s currently best suited as the only dog in the home while she continues to build confidence and work on her social skills outside the home.

Once she’s had her fill of activity and learning, Darla is a very affectionate girl who loves to settle in close with her people for cuddles and downtime 💜

Cold, dark winter morning got you down in the dumps? Adopt Saviour and every morning will feel like the best kind of slow, cosy start 🥰🧡

During our Sleeping Ruff fundraiser, Saviour absolutely nailed his role! Snuggled up in bed all night long, always making sure he was touching his bunking buddy for extra warmth and connection. No fuss, just pure comfort companion energy.

And that’s exactly what he’s all about.

Saviour is looking for a loving home where life is simple and the vibe is relaxed. He’s not asking for busy weekends or a packed social calendar, he’s much more of a bush walk, then back to the couch kind of guy 😴

He’d thrive with people who enjoy quiet company, lazy mornings, and a dog who is happiest just being close to you. Less doggy cafés, more doona days and cosy nights in!

Noah is the kind of dog that makes you wonder if she secretly reads training manuals at night 👀✅

She’s a 2yo Kelpie x Cattle Dog mix, and honestly… she’s got “top of the class” energy written all over her. Smart, switched-on, and always looking for something to do.

Noah is all about purpose and movement. Walks, play, training games, more play… she’s happiest when her brain and body are both in action. She’s driven, focused, and absolutely shines when she’s given purpose and structure.

But don’t let the working dog brain fool you! Once the day is done, Noah switches gears and is a proper cuddle bug who loves winding down with her people 💜

She can live with a male dog and would suit a home with kids 10+.

Walter may be a big boy, but he’d like it officially noted that he is, in fact, a lap dog. The size discrepancy is simply a technicality 🙃

If you’re sitting down, Walter assumes you’ve done so specifically to cuddle him. If you’re standing up, he’ll be right behind you to make sure you’re not getting into any trouble without him.

Kitchen? Walter’s there.

Laundry? Walter’s there.

Toilet? Unfortunately, Walter’s there too.

Personal space is a concept Walter has heard of, but doesn’t particularly agree with 🤪

Despite his size, he’s a gentle, affectionate soul who loves nothing more than being close to his people. His favourite move is quietly backing himself towards you until you get the hint and provide the bum scratches he believes he’s entitled to.

Walter is looking for a loving home where he can be part of the family and enjoy plenty of companionship. A newly retired couple would be right up his alley! Active enough for adventures, but home enough to keep him company.

A huge thank you to the amazing team at Bendigo Bank Pinjarra for their ongoing support of K9 Rescue Group. We are incredibly grateful to have once again received $50,000 in sponsorship funding for the next 12 months. This generous contribution will help cover vital veterinary costs and fund the replacement of a storm-damaged fence in our exercise yards, directly benefiting the dogs in our care.

We were also thrilled to receive $2,500 worth of items from our rescue Wishlist. These much-needed supplies will make a real difference to our day to day operations. A special thank you to Keysbrook Produce, who supplied many of these items at wholesale prices, helping the donation go even further.

🚨 Foster Needed for Lenny 🚨

Lenny needs your help. She is currently undergoing emergency surgery to remove a large foreign body.

Once she is stable and ready to be discharged from the vet, she will urgently need a foster placement to provide her with a safe and comfortable place to recover.

Lenny is looking for:
🐾 A pet-free home
🐾 A quiet, calm environment
🐾 Older children or an adult-only home preferred
🐾 Someone who is home often to help monitor her recovery

Tally is a 2-year-old American Bulldog mix with enough personality for at least two dogs. Some dogs politely exist…. Tally prefers to make an entrance 💥

Whether she’s zooming around, pulling one of her trademark goofy expressions, or finding a brand-new way to make everyone laugh, Tally approaches life with enthusiasm that can only be described as full send.

She’s the kind of dog who believes every adventure is a good idea and every day should be lived at maximum fun. Hiking trail? Amazing. Beach trip? Perfect. Exploring somewhere new? She’ll be ready before you’ve found your shoes.

Underneath all the chaos and comedy, Tally is an affectionate girl who loves her people and wants to be part of whatever you’re doing.

Meet Chai 🤎

Like her sisters Sugar & Candi, Chai is looking for a patient, loving home that will help her build confidence and show her what it’s like to be truly loved.

While she can be a little nervous at first, Chai warms up quickly and becomes an absolute smooch. Once she trusts you, she loves being close to her people and soaking up all the affection she can get once she knows she can trust you.

Chai recently joined us for our Sleeping Ruff fundraiser and absolutely loved having company for the night. She lapped up every minute of the attention and reminded us just how sweet and affectionate she really is 🤎

While Sugar can be a little nervous when meeting new people, she warms up quickly and before long she’s wiggling with excitement every time she sees you. Her whole body wags, not just her tail! 🥹💕

She’s an absolute smooch who loves affection and being close to her people. Once you’ve earned her trust, you’ll have a loyal shadow and cuddle buddy for life.
