What makes a puppy from a registered reputable and ethical breeder more expensive is not just the cost of rearing a pup or litter

It is the breeding requirements that were met, health tests, show gradings, Hip And Elbow screening, temperament tests/ breed survey and DNA testing .

The cost for health screening of a female before the mating takes place, careful selection of a stud Male. The stud fee, progesterone testing ,travel cost flying her to the east to be mated or Artificial insemination, cost of raising the litter, vet checks ,vaccination, worming and microchip etc.

You do not want a show dog , you do not want to breed, you might not even want to train your dog, but you want a proper GSD with stable temperament, that has been raised correctly from parents that have been health and temperament tested, from parents that look like a good GSD specimen and behave like good GSD specimen and are healthy specimen .
That is why you buy from a registered ethical breeder.
Your registered ethical breeder will also take back your dog if need be, so the dog won’t ever end up in rescue/animal welfare.
