Our very own Dr Jess headed to Melbourne today to take part in an in-person dentistry wet lab as part of her ongoing professional development.

The training included a comprehensive theory component followed by hands-on practical experience, allowing participants to develop their dental skills in a supported learning environment.

We’re incredibly proud to provide opportunities like this as part of our new graduate onboarding and training program. Not only does it help build confidence and clinical skills, but it also gives Dr Jess the chance to connect and network with other graduate veterinarians from Tasmania and across Australia.

If your pet is due for a dental check-up or could benefit from a brighter, healthier smile, you’ll be able to book with Dr Jess when she returns—or with any of our fantastic clinical team.

We’re looking forward to welcoming her back and seeing her put her new skills into practice!

Meet Buster 🐾

Recently, Buster started growing what could only be described as his second Tasmanian head!

The lump on his side, along with another near his nose, grew rapidly over the past few months and began making daily life more difficult for this sweet senior gentleman.

Our team worked with Buster’s family to access support through the PetSafetyNet program, helping to fund the removal of these tumours and improve Buster’s comfort and quality of life.

PetSafetyNet is a collaborative initiative co-designed by PetSure, VetChat and VetPartners to help improve access to veterinary care for eligible pet owners experiencing financial hardship.

Montrose & New Norfolk Veterinary clinic is excited to announce that we have another new veterinarian joining our team next week.

Dr Jade has just moved back home from Queensland outside of clinical practice, she will be working in collaboration with the Tasmanian Government and TasNetworks on conservation projects aimed at protecting Tasmania’s threatened birds of prey, including the Wedge-tailed Eagle and Masked Owl with infrastructure to reduce powerline-related injuries and fatalities.

Dr Jade graduated from the University of Queensland in 2019.
