SNUGGLES CATTERY OPENING SOON
BOOKINGS TAKEN NOW!!
The new, world class Snuggles Pet Resort cattery facility will be opening very soon - likely within the week if all goes well on Monday with installing our new water tank.
As a result, we are NOW TAKING BOOKINGS for the remainder of 2025 and beyond.
The June long weekend is fast approaching and we will definitely be open then if you want to book. Also, the July school holidays aren't that far away either, and nor is the ski season, which looks quite promising this year (for a change). Then there is the October school holidays and long weekend and, of course, who could forget Christmas!!
Yes, we are taking bookings for Christmas NOW!!
Snuggles, for the cats only, will have several grades of accommodation, starting at fantastic and only getting better from there!
I am sorry for the length of this post, but it is essential that I get across to you the different types of accommodation we will have available.
Our standard, luxury suite, measures 2 metres wide by 2 metres deep and 2.35 metres high. That is our smallest suite, and it still provides almost 9.5 cubic metres of space for your cat or cat family to enjoy.
And enjoy they will, with different height platforms throughout the suite, large comfy beds with soft, fluffy blankets to curl up in, and other soft mats on some platforms for the cats to lie upon.
These suites are bigger than almost every other cat suite you will find anywhere, and if you can find one about the same size for under $100 a day, you'd be lucky!! Our standard, luxury suite is ONLY $39 per day. We have eight of these suites.
Our next grade of accommodation for your cat/s will be our indoor/outdoor suites. When completed, these will be made up of a standard, luxury suite with a half wall window overlooking the secure outdoor area filled with natural tree branches, climbing posts, seated platforms, cat grass and a host of other items to entertain your cat/s.
The outdoor component of the indoor/outdoor suite will be the same size as the indoor suite, giving your cat/s over 18 cubic metres of space in which to explore, play, exercise, relax, sleep and see the world and the wildlife going by. Eighteen cubic metres!!!
We will also have bird attracting shrubs, bird feeders and a bird bath nearby to entertain the cats and encourage their natural behaviour.
The cost for these cat suites will be $49 per day, and we will have six of these suites available once the exterior building is completed. Until then, the suites are 2m wide x 2m deep x 2.35m high and have a large window (1.8m x 1m) overlooking our creek (north) or our horse/sheep paddock (south).
The next grade of accommodation is our family suite, which measures almost 3 metres x 2 metres x 2.35 metres ( (14 cubic metres!!) and, when the outdoor component is finished, will have another 2 metres x 2 metres x 2.2 metres of outdoor, or another 9 cubic metres, in which to explore. Again, that is more than 23 cubic metres of space to enjoy! And still, the family suites have even more platforms for the cats to jump on and around, to seek the higher ground they enjoy, to nestle up high and watch the world go round, or just have their 'mad minute' of running around stupidly, umping all over the place. At Snuggles, your cat/s will have the room to do whatever they like. The family rooms, of which we have two, are $59 per day.
Next, we have the theme rooms, of which I am going to tell you very little apart from the fact that my wife, Lana, has spent months of intensive labour in her sewing room, putting together everything you will see in each of our themed rooms.
From sewing curtains to crocheting pom poms, to making cat beds and rugs and mats for the cats to rest upon, seat covers, cushions and everything else you will see, Lana has carefully handcrafted each and every one of them as a gesture of her love and affection for your cat/s.
I am immensely proud of the job she has done and the effort she has gone to - for you, our customers. She has done an incredible job and, once you have seen them for yourself, I am 100% positive you will agree. And don't think I had anything to do with it, either!!
So, our four themed rooms will all have something different and appealing about them. You may, of course, develop a favourite when you see them all, so you wll always need to book well ahead to ensure you can secure one of these rooms.
Two themed suites will have an outdoor area like the other indoor/outdoor suites, and two suites will not.
The two suites without an outdoor area will cost $69 day. These suites are 2.8m long x 2 metres wide x 2.35 metre high (over 13 cubic metres) with a huge bay window overlooking the Tinderry Ranges and which get all of the morning sun. They come with a huge cat tree and, again, lots and lots of elevated platforms for the cats to play or rest upon.
Visitors have already asked when they can move in instead of the cats, the rooms are so attractive and with such beautiful views they want to put a bed in and stay with their cats. If only!
The other two suites, when the outdoor component is finished will add an extra 9 cubic metres to the existing 13 cubic metres to make this suite our 'penthouse' suite at more than 22 cubic metres in size. It has the same large bay window, bay window seat, overlooks the Tinderry Ranges, receives all the morning sun and has been luxuriously fitted out by Lana. These two suites will cost $79 per day.
At present, we don't have the outdoor areas up, so we will be charging reduced prices until that comes to fruition. Costs will be:
Standard luxury suites $39/day
Indoor/Outdoor suites $39/day
Family suites $49/day
Themed rooms $59/day
Additional cats sharing a suite will cost $20/day
Many cat owners will already know that most catteries offer nowhere near the amount of room for cats that Snuggles is providing, but do you really know the actual difference between some of the 'accommodation' offered elsewhere and Snuggles' options?
Many places these days offer modular accommodation or, as I like to say, a cat in a cupboard. I say that because that is exactly what it looks like to me. And man such places offer various sized cupboards at what I think are extremely stupid prices for the size of the offering. Particularly so when you think how active cats CAN be, need to be, and how they need to be able to express as many of their natural behaviours as possible. You can't do that in a cupboard or a cage!
Anyway, that style of accommodation can be as small as 900mm x 600mm x 600mm. That is 0.324 of a cubic metre!!!!
Our smallest suite is 9.4 cubic metres. That is, our suite is 29 times LARGER than many options you might have currently.
Other 'cupboards', of course, can be bigger which, of course, they charge more money for. I have seen, in the Canberra region, modular cat suites (cupboards) that are about 1 metre wide x 1 metre deep x 900 high (0.9 cubic metres) that cost over $75 day!
Our most expensive suite, at $79 (when we finish the outdoor area) is more than fourteen and a half times bigger than that!!
So, if you are looking for somewhere nice, where your cat will be looked after, will have luxurious and specifically designed suites to encourage normal cat behaviour, lower stress and maximise enjoyment, and with privacy for your cat or interactions through glass panels only if it wants, room to play or lots of places to snooze the day away, then Snuggles Pet Resort is not only the best cat facility in the region for you and your cat, but it also provides the best value for your money in the region, if not Australia.
