What if the answer isn’t forcing the dog β€” but changing the process?

Biscuit had been β€œfired” from other grooming salons because of his behaviour around the high velocity dryer. But behaviour like that doesn’t come from nowhere β€” it usually comes from fear, overwhelm, or past experiences that felt too much for their nervous system.

As groomers, sometimes we have to think outside the box.

For dogs like Biscuit, pushing through the process isn’t the answer.
Changing the process is.
Slowing down, adjusting the environment, finding alternative ways to dry, and meeting the dog where they’re at can make all the difference.

When we stop trying to make the dog fit the grooming process, and instead shape the process around the dog… that’s when real progress happens.

Dogs like Biscuit aren’t β€œdifficult”.
They just need someone willing to listen. 🐾

If you’ve ever wanted to take control of your dog’s grooming routine, my one-on-one, hands-on workshop β€˜Tame the Fluff’ is designed to give you the skills and confidence to do just that β€” using your own dog.

You’ll be guided step by step through the full grooming process in a calm, supportive environment, with a strong focus on your dog’s comfort and safety. By the end of the session, you’ll have practical, real-world skills you can use at home.

You will learn how to:
β€’ Properly wash and prepare the coat
β€’ Perform a sanitary trim
β€’ Clip paw pads neatly and safely
β€’ Trim nails with confidence
β€’ Complete a full body clip
β€’ Tidy and shape the face

All professional grooming equipment is provided. Simply bring your dog and be ready to learn.
