Not every dog jumps into the water with confidence and that’s okay! 💜

At Noah’s Crossing Vet Clinic, our experienced Hydrotherapy team understands that every dog is different. Some take to the water straight away, while others need time, patience and plenty of encouragement to develop their confidence in the water 🌊🥰

Our goal is to make every swim as positive, comfortable and safe as possible. We take the time to discover what motivates each individual dog, whether that’s 🍗 food, 🧸 toys, 🤗 cuddles, or simply having a calm and supportive person by their side.

Mitch is one of our golden oldies, and he has a special way of making everyone melt the moment he walks through the door! 🥹🐶

With his incredibly gentle personality and sweet nature, Mitch is a true smooch at heart and we’re always excited to see his lovely face for his Hydrotherapy session! 💕💦

There’s just something extra special about our older dogs, and Mitch is the perfect reminder that getting older doesn’t mean you can’t keep moving, enjoying life and being thoroughly spoiled along the way 🐾✨

🐾 Meet The Team – Gillian! 🐾

Today we’re introducing you to Gillian, our wonderful Animal Mobility Consultant & Hydrotherapy Staff member! 💜💦

Gillian has been part of the veterinary world since 1993 and yes, that means she remembers the days of fax machines! 😂📠

Her formal Veterinary Nursing qualification came in 1995, and from early on, Gillian developed a real passion for animal behaviour, enrichment and mobility. She eventually opened her own business specialising in behaviour enrichment, with mobility work naturally becoming an important part of what she did.

Because really… what’s enrichment without the ability to get out there and enjoy it? 🐕💜

Today, Gillian has a particular passion for helping animals move more comfortably and confidently, and rehabilitation is very much her happy place.

✨ Her favourite part of the job?

Seeing an animal who has been struggling suddenly realise they can move independently again, especially when they're fitted with a wheelchair.
Gillian describes it as “flicking a light switch”, with an incredible change in their whole demeanour 🥹🐾

🦔 Favourite animals: Platypus and echidnas, the ultimate evolutionary oddballs! Although, truthfully, Gillian has a soft spot for just about every creature.

🐶 Pets at home: No pets of her own at the moment, but she's currently looking after her son's two dogs while he's overseas… in what has become a rather open ended pet sitting arrangement! 😂

🍳 Outside of work: Gillian has rediscovered her love of cooking and baking, enjoys a good book (mostly via Audible these days!), has a soft spot for vintage and classic motor vehicles, and treasures her wonderful circle of friends who feel very much like chosen family ❤️

We’re so lucky to have Gillian and her wealth of experience, knowledge and genuine love for helping animals feel their best! 🌟

🐾 Steve's 6 Week Rehabilitation Journey 💜

Meet Steve, a beautiful Greyhound who recently stayed with the team at Noah’s Crossing Vet for a dedicated 6 week post surgery rehabilitation program 🐕✨

Steve had suffered a hock injury when he was younger, which over time led to an external rotation of his right hind leg. This contributed to discomfort, an altered gait, bunny hopping, lameness and muscle imbalances through his hind legs.

So, Steve got to work! 💪🐾

Over his 6 weeks with us, Steve completed daily rehabilitation sessions, with his program tailored to his individual needs.
His treatment included:

💧 Hydrotherapy and Under Water Treadmill
🦵 Physiotherapy exercises
🔴 Laser therapy
⚡ Shockwave therapy
⚖️ Strength, balance & proprioception exercises

It wasn't just about getting Steve moving, it was about helping him move more comfortably, confidently and correctly, while rebuilding strength and balance through his hind end.

🚨🐶 Louis had a very nutty adventure! 🐶🚨

Louis recently decided that a whole heap of macadamia nuts looked like a tasty snack… unfortunately, macadamias can be dangerous for dogs 😳🥜

Thankfully, Louis was brought into Noah’s Crossing Vet Clinic promptly and our team was able to make him vomit, removing the nuts before they could cause further problems 💕🩺

This is a great reminder that some foods that are perfectly safe for us can be dangerous for our pets 🚫🐾

If you think your dog or cat has eaten something they shouldn’t have, don’t wait for symptoms to appear. Contact your Veterinarian as soon as possible so they can advise you on what to do next.

🐾💦 Lilibeth’s Little Swimmers! 💦🐾

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Lilibeth’s beautiful Bulldog puppies to Noah’s Crossing for their very first swims! 🥰🐶

Lilibeth is no stranger to our Hydrotherapy pool and was a frequent swimmer with us before becoming a mum to her gorgeous litter! 💕 So naturally, we were pretty excited to introduce her puppies to the water too.

The whole litter came along for their first swim the other week, and they did so well! 👏💦 Some little swimmers took to it straight away, while others were busy figuring out exactly what this whole swimming business was about! 😂

Early positive experiences with water can be a wonderful way to build confidence and body awareness, all while having a bit of fun 🐾💜

🐾✨ Puppy Cuteness Overload! ✨🐾

We had some very special visitors at Noah’s Crossing Vet Clinic recently, a gorgeous litter of Borzoi puppies who came in for their health checks! 🐶❤️

These elegant little pups may grow into those beautiful, graceful Borzoi we all know and love, but for now they’re just a bundle of fluffy noses, long legs and puppy cuddles! 🥰

Our team made sure each puppy received a thorough health check to help give them the best start to life 💕🩺

And yes… there may have been a little puppy cuddling happening along the way! 😍
