Sad news with the first recorded case of Bird Flu in Wyndham 🥲
The Victorian Government has advised that there's been one case of bird flu detected in Wyndham, relating to a wild bird.
Community reports play an important role in helping to monitor the current situation.
If you see sick or dead birds or wildlife:
✅ Avoid contact or moving it
✅ Record the exact location and what you observed
✅ Report it online at Agriculture Victoria - Bird Flu or call 1800 675 888
The risk of bird flu to people in Australia remains low. Bird flu is not considered a food safety risk for chicken meat or eggs when they are handled and cooked correctly. Tips at home to help reduce the spread of H5 bird flu include:
- keep your dog away from any sick or dead birds or wildlife when out walking
