Inner City Strays We’re a group of compassionate cat lovers who are making a difference to the lives of Sydney street cats. Responsible Rehoming Organization number: R251000250

Inner City Strays, Inc is a not-for-profit incorporated association and charity comprising of a team of dedicated, passionate volunteers. Our work involves reducing stray numbers by rescuing young kittens and cats from various places around the inner city area of Sydney. We provide them with health checks and necessary veterinary treatments, foster and socialise them, before adopting them out to g

ood homes through respected agencies or veterinary practices. Currently there is an unknown number of cats living on the streets of Sydney that are constantly at risk of being hit by cars and suffer from untreated disease or injury. These cats form colonies which may comprise of just a few felines to quite a large number. Through no fault of their own they are often persecuted by residents, members of the public, local businesses or various government departments that refuse to see them as a living, sentient animal. As we are all volunteers we would love the the support of cat lovers who want to see life-affirming programs implemented. We need tangible contributions; money, volunteers, cat food, foster carers, as well as community legal, veterinary and local business support. We support the internationally recognised ‘Five Freedoms’ of animal welfare:

Freedom from hunger and thirst
Freedom from discomfort
Freedom from pain, injury or disease
Freedom to express normal behaviour
Freedom from fear and distress

As we work on the frontline we can see that as a society we should be taking proactive steps to prevent further suffering & offer care. Our dedicated team makes the lives of these street cats so much better.

Can we talk about how cute this girl is?🥹 And she is so photogenic!

May seems to know exactly where the camera is and always manages to give us the sweetest little face. She’s a beautiful girl with a gentle nature, and we’re loving watching her confidence grow.

Now we just need to find the person who sees May and thinks, that’s my girl❤️

We always say our cats lives are not measured in the quantity of years but the quality.

Boy did little Loki have quality.

Rescued from the streets as a little kitten with his brother, Loki was adopted and soon lived with another ICS kitty, Vali. They hit it off and bonded very quickly - they slept, played and ate together. They loved and were loved.

Sadly Loki was diagnosed with a major heart condition at just 1 year old. His condition was managed with medication and echocardiograms and he lived life to the fullest despite it. His adopter was warned he would not have a long life and last year he was given a 6 month prognosis. He smashed that and went onto live another full year.

Loki was a gorgeous and mischievous little dude. He was full of life until the end. He could not have asked for a better family and better care. We certainly could never have found him a more loving home.

Viola and Sebastian

They are domestic sibling black long hair indoor only cats of about 4 years each. They are microchipped and desexed. Microchip number - 991003002554166 & 991003002554165

Viola and Sebastian are very gentle house cats and very playful. They love receiving cuddles and petting and will always come and snuggle on the couch and on the bed.

Sebastian has more of a dominant personality compared to Viola. This is evident as during meal times, he will always finish his food first, and then will usually attempt to eat from Viola's plate. Supervision is required to ensure Viola receives her full meal.

Both Cats have also never scratched intentionally, occasionally only when they have been startled by something (sudden movements while they were sleeping beside you). They are living with a 16 months old baby and the baby can be pretty rough, Viola won't let the baby get too close to her, she will go close when baby is sleeping; instead Sebastian will just sit there and receive any kind of "treatment", if tired he'll just walk away.

Viola likes to be alone and rest and make biscuit, she will ask to cuddle every now and then. Sebastian loves physical contact and will always look for cuddles (or food), he is now a stressed cat: our baby and recent moving made him very stressed.

They would need someone with time to dedicate to them and love them forever how they deserve, without taking them apart from each other they have been living together since birth.

They eat wet food twice a day, morning and evening, and they always have unlimited dry food and water.

Medical history: They were found FHV and treated, since we got them they sneeze sometimes, but they have always been well overall. We do vaccination once a year and it is due at the end of November. Additionally Sebastian stress has caused him a small bladder inflammation that we are currently treating, treatment will be over in a day.

Preta (now Shadow) and Turtle (now Scout) are fully settled into their new home ❤️

Preta and Turtle were not in foster together but have hit it off. They love hanging out and sleeping together. We are so happy for these two who have really landed on their paws.

Bonnie 🥰

Have you ever seen a more exquisite ginger tabby?

Born in a backyard, Bonnie found herself at the pound at just a few weeks old. She was bewildered but she was so trusting ❤️

Bonnie has thrived in care. She is now 8 months old and very independent. She is in care with her sister Tyla and would be fine with other cats. She would also be ok as a solo cat with a family that is home a lot. She is gentle and fine with respectful children. She loves a snuggle and loves to play.

Bonnie may be shy for a few days moving to a new home like most cats.
