Inner City Strays We’re a group of compassionate cat lovers who are making a difference to the lives of Sydney street cats. Responsible Rehoming Organization number: R251000250

Inner City Strays, Inc is a not-for-profit incorporated association and charity comprising of a team of dedicated, passionate volunteers. Our work involves reducing stray numbers by rescuing young kittens and cats from various places around the inner city area of Sydney. We provide them with health checks and necessary veterinary treatments, foster and socialise them, before adopting them out to g

ood homes through respected agencies or veterinary practices. Currently there is an unknown number of cats living on the streets of Sydney that are constantly at risk of being hit by cars and suffer from untreated disease or injury. These cats form colonies which may comprise of just a few felines to quite a large number. Through no fault of their own they are often persecuted by residents, members of the public, local businesses or various government departments that refuse to see them as a living, sentient animal. As we are all volunteers we would love the the support of cat lovers who want to see life-affirming programs implemented. We need tangible contributions; money, volunteers, cat food, foster carers, as well as community legal, veterinary and local business support. We support the internationally recognised ‘Five Freedoms’ of animal welfare:

Freedom from hunger and thirst
Freedom from discomfort
Freedom from pain, injury or disease
Freedom to express normal behaviour
Freedom from fear and distress

As we work on the frontline we can see that as a society we should be taking proactive steps to prevent further suffering & offer care. Our dedicated team makes the lives of these street cats so much better.

Chloe-Belle🤍❤️

This gorgeous girl has discovered that a hairbrush makes an excellent scratching station😂

She absolutely loves a good scratch and was happily rubbing herself all over this brush. Just look at her face!

Chloe-Belle knows exactly what she likes in life — cosy spots, her people nearby, and plenty of scratches.

At 7 years young, she’s still playful, full of personality, and has so much love to give. She’s the perfect mix of independent and affectionate, happily hanging out beside you and then asking for attention when the mood strikes.

She deserves a home where she can enjoy all the brushes, cuddles, and love her heart desires❤️

Bambi🤎

This little girl has come such a long way🥹

When Bambi first came into care, humans were definitely not her thing. She much preferred the company of other cats and wasn’t too sure about all the people wanting to love her.

But we’ve had a huge breakthrough.

Bambi recently climbed onto the sofa, hopped onto a lap all by herself, and started purring and kneading away❤️ She even enjoyed some belly rubs!

She’s still a little skittish and isn’t quite at the stage where you can just pick her up whenever you like, but that’s okay. Every little step is a big win for a kitten like Bambi.

Bambi now lives with Stewie, and the two of them are adorable together. Having a confident feline friend has really helped her come out of her shell.

Watching shy kittens learn to trust is one of the most rewarding things, and we’re so proud of our little Bambi. We can’t wait to see what she does next🥹🤎

Meet Tom - a handsome, confident boy who is looking for a very specific home… one where he can be the one and only cat❤️

Tom really loves being the king of his castle and needs a home where he doesn’t have to share his people, his space, or his attention with other felines. He has more than enough personality to fill a whole house on his own 😂

Tom absolutely adores people. He’s the kind of cat who wants to be involved in everything you’re doing and has even met a stranger. He’ll happily say hello to visitors, sit beside you while you watch TV, and keep you company throughout the day.

He’s incredibly clever too! He knows how to high five, fist bump, and shake paws. Sometimes we think he believes he’s actually a person.

Tom is affectionate, curious, and full of adventure. He gets himself into the silliest situations and approaches life with not a care in the world.

He’s wonderful with people, including children, and has so much love to give.

If you’ve been looking for one cat to be your best friend, your sidekick, and the centre of your world, Tom could be your perfect match❤️

Tom was adopted through Inner City Strays as a tiny 10-week-old kitten and has recently made his way back into our care. As he’s matured, it’s become clear that Tom would be happiest as the only cat in the home, so we’re insisting on finding him a family where he can be the king of his castle and soak up all the attention for himself.

Preta🖤

Here she is! Isn’t she adorable?🥹

Preta is the gentlest, smoochiest little girl. She’s a total lap cat and absolutely loves her people… especially her foster dads😂❤️

If you’re holding your phone and she’s decided it’s patting time, don’t be surprised if she knocks it right out of your hands. Attention is very important, after all!

Her foster family even bought her a little doughnut bed from Kmart and she absolutely loves it.

Preta is such a special girl. Sweet, gentle, affectionate, and happiest when she’s curled up on a lap getting all the love she deserves.

Honestly, how could you not fall in love with this beautiful black kitty?🖤

Red & Leo❤️🤎

These two really do tick every box🥹

Want a kitten who is ridiculously affectionate and thinks laps were invented just for him? That’s Red.
Want a little shadow who follows you from room to room, stares at you adoringly while you’re working, in the toilet🤣 and always wants to know what you’re doing? That’s Leo.

Want a kitten who’s greedy, needy, and always asking for love and snacks? Red again😂
Want a best friend who just wants to be near his people? That’s definitely Leo.

Yes, they’re from the same litter, but somehow Red looks enormous next to his brother! We promise they’re both still kittens😂

When you first meet them, they might be a little shy. Give them a bit of time though and they go absolutely nuts… especially if food is involved! The way to both of their hearts is very simple: food and play❤️

These two are just so cute together. They play together, cuddle together, and bring out the best in each other.

We would absolutely love to see Red and Leo adopted together. They already have such a special bond, and we can’t imagine a better pair to welcome into your home.

How is this gorgeous girl still waiting for her forever home?🥹

Jade is such a lovely kitten. She’s playful, affectionate, and always up for a game or an adventure. One minute she’s racing around having fun, and the next she’s curled up looking absolutely adorable.

She was rescued from the pound with her sister, Tyla, and has settled beautifully into foster care.

Jade has so much love to give and deserves a family who will adore her as much as we do❤️ Honestly, just look at her. How could you not fall in love?

Turtle💚

Living with a terminal illness & disability, Wren is one of the bravest cats we've ever met. Despite the challenges he faces, he greets each day with resilience, curiosity, joy and a whole lot of heart. His foster parents and fur-family just adore him. How can you not! 

Thanks to the support of our community, Wren is safe, comfortable and surrounded by so much love. Every day matters.

Not every rescue story ends with adoption. Sometimes rescue means providing comfort. It means dignity. It means making sure a cat knows warmth, kindness and love for every day they have left.

Isn’t he a handsome young man?🥹

This boy is into absolutely everything. If there’s a cupboard open, a toy on the floor, or something happening in the house, Will needs to investigate.

He’s incredibly confident, full of personality, and purrs… constantly. Seriously, this little guy has one volume setting and it’s LOUD❤️

Will doesn’t sit still for very long because he’s always busy exploring, playing, and making sure he doesn’t miss out on anything.

He’s the kind of kitten who fills a home with fun and laughter. Curious, cheeky, and so full of love, Will is going to make one lucky family very happy. What are you waiting for?❤️
