🐾Lend a Paw🐾 this tax time and help give special cats like Chance a second chance! 😻 Here is his story…

Chance came to Cat Protection as a young kitten after he was found alone in a park 🆘 He was suffering from a bad leg injury where he was missing the tarsus on his right hind leg and had swelling, so he underwent vet treatment right away 🏥 🩺👩‍⚕️

The vet recommended amputation, but Chance was so little he had to go into foster care while awaiting his procedure, being treated with antibiotics, pain relief, and plenty of TLC in the meantime ❤️‍🩹 Chance was full of beans despite his injury, and managed to open up his stump, so the little guy needed to stay at our Adoption Centre where he could be monitored closely and couldn’t try and do zoomies! 🐈💨

The vet decided it was in Chance’s best interest to move his operation forward, and this sprightly kitten underwent a successful limb amputation. The vet observed a much happier Chance as soon as he’d recovered from the surgery 😸 Chance learned how to walk on three legs and has never looked back. Within two days of being available for adoption, he found his purrrfect forever home, and is now named Manx and living his best life with his doting paw-rents! 👩‍❤️‍👨

😻 Happy forever homes 😻

Freddie has now been with our family for six weeks, and has settled in beautifully.
He spends his days enjoying sunny sleeping spots, interspersed with crazy zoomies, galloping up and down the hallways and through the dining room like a thundering rocket. His purr motor turns on quickly with stroking and ear rubs, and he loves to wake us each morning with conversation. He handles family cuddles like a big teddy bear and has some preferred toys to bat around (a Christmas bauble is the current favourite!) Did you know he snores when he sleeps??!!
Thank you for trusting us with the gorgeous Freddie - he's definitely our family member now.

❤️ HAPPY ADOPTIVERSARY ❤️

Bela has settled into our family beautifully. Our family is much happier with Bela’s presence, and she has brought us so much joy, love, and companionship.
She is very loved and has become an important part of our everyday lives. We are grateful to Cat Protection for helping bring her into our family.

On Fridays we share ✨Picture-Purrrfect Meowsterpieces✨ from over the ages. Today we have “A Cat Named Sam” (1954) by Andy Warhol 👨‍🎨 (1928–1987). Often named as the most prolific artist during the second half of the 20th century, Warhol is known as a leading figure in the 🟢🟣🔵Pop Art Movement 🟠🟡🔴

Inspired by his mother’s 25 cats, Warhol also created a children book named ‘Cats Named Sam’ before he rose to fame 🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍

😻 Happy forever homes 😻

We just wanted to let you know that Silver (Silly for short) has settled in really well. She is a very happy little girl, and she is getting along quite well with our 6-year-old cat Izzie and is keeping a respectful distance from our 16-year-old Tinka.
As you can see, she is very comfortable and loves exploring the house and stealing any of her sister’s food she can get at. She loves riding around on my eldest daughter’s shoulders. She has such a lovely gentle personality and loves cuddles and playing in equal measure.
Thank you so much for all you do and for caring so much about cats.

Top of her list are cuddles, snuggles, pats and chin tickles. Once she warms to you, Jessica will be happy to share her love of belly rubs too plus you’ll have a fabulous friend to share your life with and tell all your secrets to. Jessica is always up for a heart-to-heart and will be a great comfort when your spirits are low.

💖 This furry little bundle of joy absolutely adores playtime with her favourite feathery toys and will have you enchanted with her fun-loving antics. When she isn’t busy tossing around her toys, Jessica can be found rolling at your feet requesting pats or loafing around next to you, she adores company and will follow you from room to room, never missing an opportunity for a quick snuggle.

✨ Once fully settled, Jessica may enjoy some supervised outside access but always safely inside at night with you. A cheerful and confident kitty, Jessica is a champion cuddler and loves making friends with everyone she meets.

‘Why We Love Our Pets’ is a community project created by local Waterloo-and-surrounds residents through Counterpoint Community Services Peer Educators Program (with support from City of Sydney and Homes NSW). Their booklet ‘Paws, Claws, and Heartbeats’ is now available online! 🐾 💖

You’ve probably seen our posts about ‘Redfern & Waterloo Pet Days’ and ‘Northcott Pet Days’, both of which Cat Protection attends annually. In 2024, residents were photographed with their beloved pets, and their heart-warming stories recorded. ‘Paws, Claws, and Heartbeats’ tells these very stories and is a must-read for anyone who adores the amazing cats and dogs we share our lives with 🐶🐈‍⬛🐱🐕🐈

We have named our feline friend Miss Maggie Moira Gray. She is settling in perfectly and loves being around people, which is so nice. We are so happy with her, she has been a perfect addition to our family.
