Chad is a good companion and is very loving.
He is very active and so keeps me "on my toes".
He is also a bit naughty, but he understands what the words "No" and "Get down" mean.
He is a very nice cat and I am very glad to have him.

Tad and Saru have settled in very well and are running the house to their desires. They did very well at their last vet checkup and are constantly making us laugh at their antics.

🐈🐈 Adoption update 🐈🐈

Last week was a little slower for adoptions but we were still overjoyed for stunning Shelley (pictured)! This sweet feline enchanted many hearts here at Cat Protection with her gentle nature, gorgeous green eyes and love of snuggling. We are delighted that she can now spend her days in a comfy bed cat-napping the days away, happily ever after. We also said a fond farewell to one lovely little kitten, zany Zuri, upbeat Uno and purrfect pair Smokey and Shadow. Wishing all our adopted feline friends and their new families all the very best 😸😻😽

❤️HAPPY ADOPTIVERSARY❤️

Kiki has continued to be a very beloved part of our family. He is possibly the world's smoochiest cat, crying more often to be picked up and cuddled than he does for food. While his obsession with sleeping on people's backs can make life difficult at times, and his habit of sprawling when he sleeps can make him an undesirable bed fellow, none of this really matters. He makes us all very happy.
Thank you Cat Protection Society for bringing him into our lives.

Our story

Cat Protection began in 1958, as a small group of just 10 volunteers dedicated to reducing the number of stray cats. They worked tirelessly to desex street cats and find them loving and responsible homes. In those early days, all they had was a post office box, some stationery and the home phone of our President and founder.

For 20 years our early members had no base of operations. Their spirit and perseverance saw them help many cats while raising funds to buy a property. In 1979 bequest income allowed Cat Protection to purchase the building that continues to be our home, 103 Enmore Road Newtown. In the beginning it housed our Op Shop and administrative operations but no cats. Several vets who we worked with to desex cats agreed to hold felines at their clinics so they could be adopted.

In 2003 our newly renovated cattery opened allowing us to rehome cats and kittens from our own, purpose-built premises.
