Not every day is a 100% day.

Some days your body hurts. Some days you’re exhausted, flat, or just not in the headspace for it. And when you’ve got a high drive dog, that can weigh on you. It can feel like you’re letting them down if you can’t give them the big walk or the full training session.

Today my knee was sore, but Kimba is a very energy driven kelpie and she still needed her outlet. So we worked within my limits. Flirt pole play with some brain games mixed in. I barely had to move and she still got pushed through her paces.

You don’t have to be at your best every day to meet your dog’s needs. You just need a few tools that still work on the hard days.

I’m running a two week online trial of the Adolescent Dog Project for people who are ready to commit 10 to 15 minutes a day and make a real change with their adolescent dog. There are only a few spots, so DM me “TRIAL” and I’ll send you the link.

Teenage dog still bouncing off the walls after an hour long walk? This one’s for you 👇

I’m Roxy, a Brisbane based dog trainer, and adolescent dogs (6 months to 2 years) are my favourite dogs to work with. I’m building a new online program just for them, and before it goes live I’m looking for 5 dedicated owners to test run the first 2 weeks.

This isn’t a course you buy and forget about. You’ll be held accountable (by me), and it’s built around the time you already spend with your dog. Think 10 to 15 minutes a day, no pulling time out of thin air.

In return, I need you to actually do the work and give me your honest feedback. Was it easy to follow? Did it make sense? Did you see a change in just 2 weeks?

With summer coming and those 30+ degree days making training outside pretty hard going, the timing couldn’t be better.

Your timing is the difference between rewarding the right behaviour and the wrong behaviour.

Practising sits at home? YES should land the second their bum hits the floor. Not before, and not once they’ve popped back up.

Try not to use YES to get your dog’s attention either. If you’re saying it while they’re off ignoring you, you’re telling them to do more of that.

The game I get people to play: grab a handball and a second person. One of you drops the ball, the other says YES the moment it hits the ground. The person holding the ball is allowed to fake it, so no jumping the gun.

Leave the dog out of this one. Balls dropping everywhere is way too exciting for them 😂

Hi, I'm Roxy 👋

I'm the owner and head trainer at Bayside K9 Training in Carbrook.

My background is horses. I studied Equine Science at UQ Gatton and I'm also an equine vet nurse. Then at the end of my first year of uni I brought home Midori, a 12 week old rescue pup. Training her is where I fell in love with training dogs, and she's the reason Bayside K9 exists.

Since then I've done my Cert III in Dog Training and Behaviour, spent three years in dog daycare learning even more about training and how dogs communicate, and I'm now four years into running Bayside K9. My favourite dogs to work with are adolescents, that 6 month to 2 year stage where your sweet puppy suddenly forgets everything they knew.

🐾HOW TO WORK WITH ME🐾

➡️1:1 Training
Start with an Online Behaviour Assessment ($330). We get to the bottom of what's going on and why, and you walk away with a written training plan and clear next steps.

➡️The Adolescent Dog Project ($1,600)
Six weeks of Saturday morning group training in Carbrook for dogs 6 months to 2 years. Includes your Trainer's Pack, lifetime access to the 60-Day Blueprint online course, and 60 days of support and accountability from me. The goal is a dog you can actually take places and enjoy.

➡️Puppy School ($700)
Six Saturday mornings, max 5 puppies aged 8 to 20 weeks. Includes a training pack, simple online modules and support from me throughout.

The good news is this is also when they pick things up incredibly fast, with clear structure and someone keeping you on track.

1:1 TRAINING
It starts with an Online Behaviour Assessment $330. One hour, one on one, where we get to the bottom of what’s going on with your dog and why. You’ll get my honest take on what’s driving it and a written training plan made for your dog.
From there, we’ll work out together what ongoing support suits you and your dog best. It’s not a one and done.

THE ADOLESCENT DOG PROJECT ($1,600)
For dogs 6 months to 2 years. It’s six weeks of group training on Saturday mornings in Carbrook. You also get your Trainer’s Pack, lifetime access to the online course (with new lessons added all the time) and 60 days of support and accountability from me.
That support and accountability is the part I care about most. My goal isn’t for you to just finish the six weeks. It’s for you to actually get the results.

PUPPY SCHOOL ($700)
Six Saturday mornings in a small group of max 5 puppies, 8 to 20 weeks old. It includes a comprehensive training pack, week homework sheets, simple online modules to follow at home, and support from me the whole way through. Spots are limited, so get in early.

I’m testing the first two weeks of an online version of the Adolescent Dog Project, and I want five teenage dogs (6 months to 2 years) and their people to do it with me.

If your dog forgets you exist the second you walk out the door, drags you down the street or jumps all over your visitors, this is for you.

Over the two weeks you’ll get:
• Short video lessons from me
• A training mission each week
• My feedback on a video of you training your dog
• A group catch-up call at the end of week 2

What I need from you:
• 5 to 10 minutes of training a day. Not hours.
• Actually doing the homework, not just watching it
• Honest feedback on what worked and what didn’t

This is the foundation for the dog you can take to the café, the beach or camping without being on guard the whole time.

Something new at Bayside K9 🐾

From next week, we’re running all our training in Carbrook and online. For the next 4 weeks we won’t be coming out to homes, as Midori needs me close by for a little while.

Here’s how you can train with us:
📍 In Carbrook One on one sessions with your dog.
💻 Online Everything from your first behaviour deep dive and plan through to ongoing private sessions, all over Zoom or Google Meet. Your dog gets to stay in their own space, right where the everyday stuff actually happens, and there’s no travel needed.

If you’re a current client, we’ll be in touch over the next few days to chat about what works best for you and your dog.
