BATH TIME! 🛁🛁🛁

Let’s talk about the importance of bathing.

The skin is the body’s largest organ, serving as a protective barrier against toxins, bacteria, and UV rays. To maintain its proper function, it’s crucial to keep it clean, healthy, nourished, and hydrated.

Dogs go through a natural skin regeneration cycle that lasts about 21 days. After this period, old skin cells die and start to break down, this leads to dander, odours, and an increased risk of skin issues.

It’s a common misconception that short-coated dogs don’t need as much grooming or bathing as those with longer coats. In fact, ALL dogs should be bathed every 3-4 weeks using both shampoo and a high-quality conditioner. The skin’s sebum layer helps nourish and protect the skin so it is very important to re-introduce the oils back in with the conditioner after the shampoo stage.

All dogs at The Dog Barber are exclusively bathed in Iv San Bernard and Hyponic products.

As we reflect on the past year, we want to express a big thank you to all our lovely clients for your continued love and support. 2024 has been a milestone year for us at The Dog Barber—upgrading our salon, making exciting changes to the team and enhancing the experience that we offer to you and your furry friends.

Please note that we will be taking a short break for the holidays and we’ll be back in business starting from January 6th. We’re excited for what 2025 has in store and can’t wait to kick goals!!

Please note that in the new year, we will be making some important adjustments to our intake system. As part of these changes, we will have limited capacity for large clientele and will unfortunately be unable to accept new large clients moving forward. This decision allows us to focus on delivering the best experience for all pets while maintaining the quality and attention to detail we’re known for. More info to come in the new year.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May your holiday season be filled with cherished moments with your loved ones—including your furry companions!
