I have some wonderful dog treats for sale for anyone that wants some. All are 100% natural and made locally.

⭐️ Kangaroo lumbar - $7.50 each (these are pretty big!)
⭐️ Veal Sternum - $12 for a pack of 2.
⭐️ Turkey necks - $6 for a pack of 2.
⭐️ Shark tails - $7.50 for 100g.
⭐️ Emu lumbar splits - $7.50 each.
⭐️ Emu pelvis - $20 for 500g.

Emu is a great alternative for dogs with allergies.

These are introductory prices and once they are gone they are gone so get in quick!

Collection from Caboolture or I’m happy to arrange delivery within 5km for an additional fee. Alternatively I can post for an additional fee.

Thank you all for your beautiful messages and comments on my update post. I can’t begin to explain how much your support and care means to me ❤️

As promised, here is our newest addition, Whiskey!

She’s a Great Dane X Irish Wolfhound and is 2.5 years old now and came to us almost a year ago. I’m fairly sure she is the naughtiest dog I’ve ever met……still!! 😂 she is so incredibly affectionate but does not understand her size and often tries to sit on my shoulders on top of the couch. She is a true lap dog!

Buddy is besotted with her and the 2 of them get along amazingly! I have often threatened to trade her in for a yellow Labrador and she thinks it’s hilarious! 😂

Please share some photos of your babies! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen some of you and I’d love to see how they are doing now ❤️🐶

💐🐶 UPDATE 🐶💐

Hi all and happy Saturday!

It’s about time I give you all an update on what’s happening with Taking the Lead going forward. Thank you all for being so patient with me. It’s going to be long so hold tight! 😂

A lot has happened in my life over the last few years. A marriage break up, multiple back and neck surgeries, hospital stays, dealing with mould toxicity and learning to live with an auto immune condition which still kicks my butt most days. I had to put Taking the Lead to the side while working through all of this as I didn’t have the mental capacity to run a business at the same time.

I have a lot to thank this business for. I have made some of the best friends I could ever have asked for because of this business. Friends that have had my back time and time again and along with my partner, have supported me immensely through the last few years. I honestly don’t think I’d be where I am without them.

I’m March 2024 my heart was broken when we lost our Darcy to cancer 💔 She was the reason I became a trainer and it didn’t seem worth continuing if she wasn’t here so I took an extended break from training. She was solid proof that positive reinforcement training works and she amazed me every day at how brave she was. She didn’t have an easy life and I am so proud of how she handled every hurdle that she was confronted with. She was an absolute superstar 🌟 Buddy became incredibly lonely with Darcy gone so in May 2024 we welcomed Whiskey, a Great Dane x Irish wolfhound, into our lives and what a whirlwind she is! I’ll introduce her more later. I still have the horses and they make me smile every day.

So what’s happening with Taking the Lead now? I won’t be offering 1 on 1 training for a while. While I’m still working through my health issues I couldn’t give you the help you all deserve so for now I’ll be putting that to the side. I may look at starting classes again towards the end of the year but I will have to see how things are going and make a decision then. I’m happy to recommend other trainers if you need someone. I still fit and sell the Perfect Fit harnesses and make snuffle mats so if you’d like either then please get in touch. I will be starting to run market stalls shortly selling enrichment items, treats, training items and harnesses so keep an eye out for details of those. I will also start posting here regularly with training ideas and information and as always, I’m here if you have any questions.
I’ve also started offering admin services for struggling businesses so if you need some help in your business, please reach out. I’ll share more on that later.

🌟🌞 UPDATE 🌞🌟

I thought it about time I give you all a bit of an update. I’ve been pretty quiet on here the last year or so.

I’ve had to make the decision to take a few months away from training. A lot of changes have happened in my life over the last 18 months or so and the time has come where I need to take a step back and work through some things. I’m looking at gradually coming back to doing some training later in the year but it’s likely initially to just be classes for the time being. Any 1 on 1 sessions still outstanding will of course still be honoured.
I’m more than happy to recommend other trainers if you’d like me to.

Thank you for bearing with me! I’ll be spending some much needed time with this cheeky pair of course and I’ll be back before you know it!

I’ll still be doing harness fittings and making snuffle mats so please get in touch if you’d like either of these!

I recently did some more work getting Doobie used to his rucksack carrier. His Dad enjoys long bush walks but occasionally they can be a little too long for Doobie so this means he doesn’t miss out! He’s such a little star and always takes everything we ask him to do in his stride 💞🐶

This gorgeous girl is Olive! She’s a ridgeback x cattle dog and is such a happy little lady. Her family asked me to come over to help work through some typical puppy behaviours such as biting, chewing and crying when left alone. She is so much fun and we had a great session! 🥰🐶
