The sad reality is, that for large dogs like Wesley and Aries, it takes MORE THAN 20 TIMES LONGER to get adopted than smaller dogs....

Brett is a greyhound. 🐾
Brett used to race.
Now he prefers racing to the couch. 🛋️
Brett is fast, but he only runs when absolutely necessary.
Like when dinner hits the bowl. 🍲💨
Brett doesn’t bark at nothing.
Brett has no interest in chasing your cat.
Brett naps 23 hours a day and still looks majestic. 😴👑
Brett wears pajamas and doesn’t care what you think.

UPDATE: ALL 4 DOGS HAVE BEEN ADOPTED!
2 weeks ago, someone abandoned 4 male miniature schnauzer mix dogs in a crate.
They were full of matts, and not in a good way 😢
Perhaps they are brothers and left over from a breeders litter....perhaps they were bred from, but no longer proved profitable....
Either way, we were heartbroken at the way they were simply discarded.
Now, only 2 weeks on, these beautiful boys are des*xed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for their new homes!

Have you met Aries?
This delightful boy may be big, but he is such a softie!
Aries has lived with small young kids and other dogs. He is house trained and accustomed to sleeping inside.
Aries is a true gentleman to take for a walk, and being a big boy, he gets pretty pooped after 20 minutes and will require some quiet time on the couch to rest and recuperate!
We would love to see Aries go to a home with medium to large sized dog for companionship, as Aries is a very social creature who appreciates company.

Occupation: Full-time napper, part-time chaos agent .
Skills include stealthy zoomies at 3am, Expert biscuit maker (kneading level: advanced), Purring like a tiny lawnmower, and Staring into your soul for snacks
Likes sitting directly on your keyboard. Dislikes being told “no”.
Fun Fact: Once knocked over a houseplant and walked away like it was performance art.

Dislikes: When the computer restarts for a software upgrade right before a zoom meeting is due to start, cleaning out the dishwasher filter, and 2 step authentication for a meaningless app like a seep tracker.

All cats and dogs are temperament tested and BARC staff will work towards ensuring your new pet is a suitable match for you, your family, and your lifestyle. All cats and dogs available for adoption are microchipped, wormed, des*xed and vaccinated.
