Belle .. look at this little face 🥰🐾

Hello… I’m Belle. 🐾

I’m a 6-year-old lady with a soft heart, a quiet spirit, and the tiniest meow you might ever hear. People tell me I’m gentle, kind, and full of love — and I hope that’s what you notice first about me. 💛

Life hasn’t always been easy, when I arrived at BARC I was a little rough around the edges. The nice humans helped clean me up, and they told me my long fluffy fur will grow back soon. But honestly… what I want even more than my fur is a home. A place where I finally feel safe enough to stretch out, purr softly, and be loved every day.

I adore affection — soft pets, warm hands, someone who doesn’t mind when I lean in just a little closer. I’m not loud or demanding; I just quietly hope someone will choose me. Sometimes I sit in my kennel and imagine what it would feel like to have a family again… a family who sees the sweetness in me and wants to share their life with a gentle soul like mine. 🌼

If you’re looking for a soft-hearted, affectionate cat who just wants a cozy spot and someone to love, I’m waiting here at BARC.
Maybe your home is the one I’ve been dreaming of. 🏡✨

— Belle

HOT AND STORMY WEATHER WARNING:
With very hot days forecast this week and strong winds in many regions, we need to give a ‘hydrating’ thought to our precious wildlife.

BE WILDLIFE AWARE
As we know, water is essential for wildlife to thrive across our state.
If you can, placing water in safe place around your yard or on your veranda for heat stressed wildlife.

A small shallow bowl of water in a shaded spot, away from pets, will allow birds, lizards and other wildlife to find some relief, especially late in the afternoon or first thing in the morning. Importantly, please place a rock or brick in the middle of the bowl to allow smaller animals and insects to climb out of the water as needed.

Be alert and aware of wildlife moving areas and across roads at dawn and dusk. In spring they are looking for mates, food and on hot days shade and clean water!

If you see a heat stressed or injured native animal, please call your local wildlife rescue hotline for advice.

Not sure who to call? Please download the free ifaw Wildlife Rescue App which will provide basic advice and help you local your closest wildlife rescue group.

And please, stay safe and hydrated!

🎄 Christmas Medication Orders 🎄
💥Important Info 💥
With the festive season fast approaching, we want to help ensure your pets continue to receive the medications they need without interruption.

📦 Please plan ahead for medication orders:
To guarantee the best chance of receiving your pet’s medication before Christmas, we recommend submitting all scripts and orders as early as possible. Suppliers and postal services are extremely busy at this time of year, and delays are common.

💊 Compounded medications (posted orders)
If your pet’s medication needs to be compounded and posted, please make sure all orders are requested no later than the week of the 8th December to ensure the best chance of arrival before Christmas.

🗓 Public holiday closures & delivery delays:
Many suppliers close over Christmas and New Year, which can affect how quickly medications can be filled and shipped.
If your pet is running low or due for a repeat soon, now is the perfect time to organise it.

❤️ Not sure what your pet needs?
Give us a call, we’re more than happy to check your pet’s file, organise repeats, and make sure everything is ready well before the holidays.

Thank you for helping us keep your pets happy, healthy, and well medicated over the festive season!
