🩸🐾 COULD YOUR PET BE A HERO? 🐾🩸

Our veterinary blood bank is looking for dog and cat blood donors who could help save the life of another pet in an emergency. ❤️

Recently, we were lucky enough to have Saffron, a beautiful greyhound, come in and donate blood — a simple act that could make a life-saving difference for another pet in need. 🐕🩸

To become a donor, pets need to meet the following requirements:

🐶 Dogs: 17kg+
🐱 Cats: 4kg+
🎂 Between 1–7 years old
❤️ In good general health
💉 Up to date with vaccinations & worming
🇦🇺 Have never travelled outside of Australia
🩸 Have never previously received a blood transfusion

If your furry family member meets these requirements and you’d be interested in having them become a blood bank hero, please contact reception to find out more and have your pet added to our donor list.

One donation could make a life-saving difference. 🐾❤️

Guess what rolled onto our X-ray table?!🦕🥚

We recently had the opportunity to x-ray a fossil egg believed to be from a Hadrosaur! Safe to say this one has been waiting a very long time for its appointment with Ann-Maree; about 70 million years!

We were unable see what might have been inside, our x-ray machine isn’t strong enough to pe*****te the fossil. A stronger CT scan would be required.

Hadrosaurs are commonly known as ‘duck-billed’ dinosaurs. They were large herbivorous dinos that lived all over the world.

We are used to imaging lots of different species here at the clinic but the remains of a creature that walked the earth millions of years ago is something special! 🦕

Meet Juniper💛
This sweet little kitten is ready to find a loving forever home. She had a scary start to life and can be a little timid, but tends to worry in new situations, so she’ll need a patient family willing to let her settle in at her own pace.

Once she feels safe and comfortable, her affectionate personality really shines, and she’ll happily enjoy cuddles and playtime. She gets along well with other calm dogs and cats but just needs the courage to build her confidence and truly flourish.

Lost dog handed in to Stewart Street Vets…..
We have had a cattle dog handed in over night, it is microchipped but we are unable to contact the owner, if you are missing a female cattle dog please give us a call on 6331 1222

⭐️ MEET TULLY ⭐️

Tully is a beautiful young Kelpie that came to us earlier in the year for a fracture of her right femur after an accident.

Because she was so excitable and energetic, Dr James used a rigid fixation method called a dynamic locking plate with locking screws.

We are pleased to see her healing nicely and back running around enjoying life!!

Tully you’re a star!! ⭐️ ⭐️

We wish to advise our clients that the clinic will be closed on Monday 13th July for staff to participate in essential further education and training.

👉🏼🚨If you have an emergency situation with your pet, an on call vet will still be available.

Please phone the normal clinic number, 6331 1222, and you will be diverted to our emergency service.

A double up post to wish this wonderful nurse a happy belated birthday and a sad farewell 🤍

Toriea completed her nursing prac here with us and it was clear early on she was a capable, thorough and caring nurse. We are so glad she decided to stay on after completing her studies and we were so lucky to have her for the time we did!

Wishing our Torz all the very best! You will be so missed 😢🤍

In light of the recent bird flu cases in Australia we wish to advise our clients and community to be vigilant and to follow these steps to keep yourselves and animals safe.

🐦‍⬛Do not touch sick or dead birds or animals, and to report them to birdflu.gov.au or 1800 675 888

🐦‍⬛Report any suspected case immediately to the Emergency Animal Disease Watch Hotline on 1800 675 888.

🐦‍⬛ Remain alert, as the clinical signs in birds are highly variable ranging from asymptomatic to sudden death.

🐦‍⬛ Exercise caution when alerted to any sick bird.

While transmission to humans is rare and there is no evidence of person-to-person spread of the current strain, we still advise clients and the public to take precautions.

Let’s keep each other safe and help stop the spread! 🐦
