Training that saves lives! 🧡

Last week, part of the Bangalow Vets team completed RECOVER training, an accredited CPR certification for veterinary professionals.

These hands‑on sessions keep our teams up to date with the latest evidence‑based CPR techniques, strengthen communication during critical moments, and help us deliver the best possible outcomes for our most vulnerable patients.

A big thank you to our incredible team and the Animal Emergency Service North Coast team for sharing their expertise and putting their skills into practice.

Easter is nearly here! While we’re enjoying family time and lots of chocolate, it’s important to remember that this time of year can be risky for our pets. Easter is actually one of the busiest seasons for vets.

Here are the top Easter hazards to keep away from your pets:

🍫 Chocolate
The most common Easter emergency. Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine, which are toxic to dogs and cats. If your pet eats any, call your vet straight away, don’t wait for symptoms!

🍞 Hot Cross Buns
Sultanas, raisins, and grapes can cause kidney failure, and even small amounts can be harmful. Seek urgent vet care if your dog gets into any.

🐰 Easter Decorations & Toys
Plastic eggs, fluffy chicks and other decorations can be choking hazards or cause intestinal blockages if swallowed. Keep them out of reach of curious pets.

💮 Easter Lilies
Beautiful but extremely toxic to cats. Even a small amount of pollen or a single bite of a petal can cause kidney failure. Best to avoid having lilies in the house if you have pets.

If your pet becomes ill or injured at any time over the long weekend, contact Animal Emergency Service North Coast immediately.

Regular vaccinations give your pet’s immune system the tools it needs to recognise and fight off harmful diseases before they become serious.

By introducing a tiny, harmless piece of a virus, vaccines help your pet build strong antibodies that protect them if they’re ever exposed in real life.

Has it been a while since your pet’s last vaccinations?
This month, we’re helping you get back on track with $30 off all vaccinations.

March is Poison Prevention Awareness Month!

Many pet parents are surprised by how easily accidental poisoning can happen.
Our pets are curious, fast and often a little too smart for their own good, which means common items in your home, garden, or garage could put them at risk.

If you ever think your pet may have eaten or been exposed to something toxic, contact your local vet straight away.
