⭐ Meet the team: Alejandra Fuentes

Ale has been part of the Bangalow Vets team since 2021. We interviewed her recently to get to know a little bit more about her:

"I was born in Girona, a beautiful town in the north-east of Spain, and have called the Northern Rivers home for the past eight years.

I completed my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2021 and joined Bangalow Vets shortly afterwards.
I've also been involved in a range of community and animal welfare initiatives, which helped shape my passion for caring for animals and supporting the people who love them.

My special interests include critical care and making sure every patient feels safe, comfortable and cared for during their visit.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, practising yoga, cooking, spending time outdoors, and exploring the Northern Rivers with my rescue dog, Alfie."

Amelia has been caring for patients at Bangalow Vets for the past two years. We interviewed her recently to get to know a little bit more about her:

"I was born in the UK and later moved to Australia, where I completed my veterinary nursing studies.
I've been working in the veterinary industry for two years and have been lucky enough to spend that time with the team at Bangalow Vets.

I have a particular interest in emergency and critical care nursing, as well as anaesthesia, and I enjoy learning more about these areas every day.

Outside of work, I love spending time at the beach, catching up with friends, and meeting their pets whenever I get the chance."

Natalie has been part of the Bangalow Vets team since 2023. We interviewed her recently to get to know a little bit more about her:

"I graduated with my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2022 and joined Bangalow Vets in 2023. Since then, I've worked across both our general practice and emergency clinic.
I love the variety that comes with veterinary nursing and have a special soft spot for caring for our senior patients.

Outside of work, you'll usually find me volunteering at a local animal shelter, practicing Pilates, or spending time with my dog, Cumin."

Dr Abbie has recently joined the team at Bangalow Vets. We interviewed her to get to know a little bit more about her:

"I grew up in the Byron Shire and completed my Bachelor of Veterinary Science at the University of Queensland in 2016. After graduating, I moved to Newcastle, where I worked as a veterinarian for RSPCA NSW for several years.

I recently relocated back to the Northern Rivers and am continuing my career in small animal general practice.

I have a strong interest in animal welfare, neonatal care and soft tissue surgeries.

Outside of work, I’m kept busy with my young family and our small menagerie of pets."

⭐ Meet the team: Dr Lobke Buhrmann

Dr Lobke has been a veterinarian at Bangalow Vets since 2022. We interviewed her recently to get to know a little bit more about her:

"I graduated from Utrecht University in the Netherlands in 2009 and moved to rural Australia shortly afterwards to begin my career in mixed animal practice. After a few years, I relocated to Brisbane, where I worked in a number of small animal clinics as well as at the RSPCA.

In 2014, my husband and I made the move to the Northern Rivers and settled on a property near Lismore. After spending five years working in veterinary research, I returned to general practice and joined the team at Bangalow Vets in 2022.

I enjoy all aspects of veterinary medicine, but I have a special interest in caring for senior and geriatric pets, helping older animals stay comfortable, healthy and happy throughout their later years.

Outside of work, life is busy with my husband, our son and our dog. When I'm not caring for animals or keeping up with family life, you'll usually find me exercising, sewing, singing, or enjoying a walk in nature."
