Meet Bean!🤎

After a consultation with our vet Barbara, we found that Bean had mild calculus (plaque) and had a fracture on one of his molars so was recommended to have a dental procedure 🦷

Little Bean had a full dental scale and polish, dental radiographs and 5 extractions. He was such a brave boy and was happy and smiling having lots of post op cuddles from the team 🐾

Dental health is just as important for our furry friends than it is for us! Did you know dental disease is one of the most common medical conditions seen by vets. Over 80% of dogs over the age of 3 have active dental disease 🐶

Some exciting news! We are finally getting a fresh coat of paint throughout the clinic.🥳🙈

Let's talk DENTALS 🦷

Just like people, maintaining oral hygiene is important for our pets' overall health and wellbeing.

❗️Did you know ❗️ in Australia, an estimated 80% of dogs and cats over the age of 3 suffer from dental disease?

At MyVet Byron Bay, we offer a range of dentistry services, including dental checks with our vets and nurses, teeth cleaning (scale and polish), dental x-rays and even some dental surgeries! We also have some great products in reception for dental care at home 🤩

We recently had Ru 🐶 and Meeka 🐱 in clinic for a routine scale and polish. Both pets were monitored closely under a general anaesthetic whilst Dr Barbara took dental x-rays, examined and cleaned their teeth. Both furry friends received lots of cuddles upon waking up of course 🩷

After a very tumultuous week, we just wanted to check in and let you all know we are all back and running as usual.
We hope you and your animal friends all weathered the storm and snuggled in, like the beautiful Mr. Paws here!🧡

On Sunday, our wonderful Dr Barb joined other amazing volunteers to offer free treatments for pets of people experiencing homelessness in the Byron community.

Pets in the Park is a fantastic community-driven service that has been operating since 2012, providing compassionate veterinary care to those in need. Recently we welcomed Pets in the Park to Byron Bay, where Dr Barbara volunteers on the third Sunday of each month at the Byron Community Cabin.

If you would like to help support this incredible cause, donations such as food, parasite preventions, leads or collars are all welcome to be dropped off at the clinic and we will ensure they reach those who need them. Alternatively, you can make a donation via the Pets in the Park website:

UPDATE: owner found:)
Does anyone recognise this old boy? He was found in Byron with no collar or tag, and his microchip details are not up to date. If you are his owner or know who his owner is please phone us on 6685 6899 so we can get him home as soon as possible.

Little Narmi came in for his general health check and second puppy vaccination with Dr Barbara this week. Narmi also received lots of cuddles, treats and a nail trim!

Introducing your little ones to the vet at a young age is a great chance to practice socialisation and foster positive experiences, making future vet visits minimally stressful for everyone as they get older.
