๐พ FRANK IS ADOPTED ๐พ
We couldn't be happier to announce that Frank has been adopted! ๐ฅฐโค๏ธ
Its been a very long journey for Frank, who was found abandoned in an Al Raha car park last year. What was mistaken initially by security as a pregnant cat was actually a case of Wet FIP; a mutation of corona virus, FIP has 2 forms, wet and dry. Wet has a 90% fatality rate and advances rapidly. Fluid build up in the abdomen is common. Thankfully, it typically spares the internal organs โ and because Frankie was vocal and hungry, we decided to admitted him on a treatment plan which lasted 84 days ... treatment which was incredibly expensive.
Frankieโs abdomen was drained several times over 3 days upon hospital admittance. Once the fluid was mostly gone his treatment began. He received daily injections for 84 days and a kind volunteer offered to foster him and give him the shots, making the treatment nearly affordable and giving Frankie a fighting chance.
He earned the nickname โFrank the Tankโ by his foster as he quickly put on weight and began to heal. Throughout his ordeal he remained sweet, affectionate, and even friendly with other cats.
Frank also battled a ringworm infection in January, probably due to a strained immune system, so he had to deal with long durations wearing a cone and a short haircut until that cleared. He took it all in his stride and was the perfect patient ๐ฅฐ
All that is behind him now, because not only did he make a full recovery, his foster fell in love with him, and he now has a very loving, very caring home and a family who will never abandon him ever again ๐ฅฐ๐พ๐ก
HAPPY FOREVER FRANK. We love you and we know you will be very happy xoxo
