Tino was Twice abandoned. But not broken.

Tino’s story begins with heartbreak. First surrendered by his original owner. Then again—passed on to a grooming salon by a second family who made it clear they want him out and surrendered to the grooming salon. That kind of loss leaves a mark. And for a while, it showed.

He struggled with separation anxiety. Every goodbye felt like the end. Every silence, a question: Will I be left again?

But slowly, gently, Tino began to heal and getting used to his foster home routine.

He’s now more confident. More trusting. He’s learning that love can stay. That humans can be kind. That the leash means joy, not goodbye. He cuddles freely, plays softly, and shares the sofa with our Salukis like he’s always belonged.

Tino is a 4-year-old Maltese boy—neutered, fully vaccinated, teeth cleaned — couple of them needed removal, and with clear blood work. But what matters most is his heart. And it’s blooming.

He’s friendly with dogs and cats, and he thrives in calm homes with someone often around. He’s not suited for high-energy environments or young children—he needs peace, presence, and gentle companionship.

🌸 Kaheela’s Fifth Day of Healing 🌸

Sweet Kaheela has been with us for just five days, and already she’s showing signs of beautiful transformation. After arriving fragile and worn from a life that aged her far beyond her estimated 7 years, she’s finally getting the rest and care she deserves at Rawan, the admin’s foster home in Abu Dhabi.

Her walk is steadier, her head held higher, and her shape is slowly returning. She’s taken these days to truly rest and recover—and it’s working. Her giardia is nearly resolved 🙏🏼🤍 and her spirit is beginning to shine through.
Bless her gentle soul, she’s gaining strength day by day and will only continue to blossom.

Today, Mariana and her family will visit Rawan to collect Kaheela, with hopes that this is the beginning of her journey to a forever home filled with love and safety.

Update:
At 11pm, Nada—one of Zaid’s kind followers—drove all the way from Dubai to visit him at BVC Clinic in Abu Dhabi. She brought him a warm meal, sat with him, and gave him the comfort he’s been missing.

Zaid ate again. Slowly, gently. He’s making progress, but he’s still fragile.

Nada’s kindness reminded us how healing begins with love.

Marco Mafnoud | From Forgotten to Fabulous

Marco Mafnoud is a one-of-a-kind Saluki boy—with an exceptional personality and a heart as big as the desert sky.

🩵 Update on Zaid 🩵

This morning, our orthopedic surgeon shared that Zaid has been in considerable pain. His stay at the BVC clinic will be extended for closer monitoring. He’s now on methadone to help manage the discomfort.

We noticed signs of distress in his face, prompting us to run additional tests. His ionized calcium levels came back critically low—just 0.8. To prevent seizures and ease his muscle spasms, he was immediately placed on an IV drip of calcium gluconate and given a vitamin D3 injection. We’re hopeful this will help stabilize his condition and bring him relief soon.

By afternoon, we saw a shift. He was calmer, no longer crying, and visibly more comfortable. It’s now 5:30pm, and he’s resting quietly.

Zaid — The First Step Toward Comfort 🤍🐾
This morning, Zaid underwent his first orthopedic surgery. Not to fix everything at once—but to gently open the door to healing.

Both of his front legs carry the same burden. One of the bones—the radius—fused too early, while the other continued to grow. That imbalance twisted both legs into unnatural angles, placed pressure on his tendons, and made every step a quiet battle. One leg is worse than the other, but both have been hurting him for far too long.

Today, his ulnas were carefully broken to create space. Space for growth. Space to release the tension. Space to gently correct the arch that’s been pulling his legs out of alignment.

He now rests with splints that will stay on for nearly two months, guiding his legs as they grow into something more natural, more free.

It’s a long journey. But we won’t give up on him.

Once Zaid turns one, he’ll need another surgery to address the remaining deformities. And when he’s fully grown, we’ll return to place the plates that will give him lasting structure and support.

We hope he’ll always be pain-free. That’s our promise. That’s our prayer.
