My horse family! They range from 5 to 12 years old. From backed to elementary, to medium and to advanced. From 15.2 to 17.2h. Mares and geldings. The one thing they all have in common, besides that I have trained them all my self, is that they are all bare foot. While I appreciate and accept that some horses can’t go without shoes, barefoot is always best for me. Many people seem stuck with the idea that to compete at a high level horses must have shoes. If you understand the basic mechanism of how the hoof function’s then you will know that to function at its optimal level barefoot is best. Diet, farrier, living conditions and ability to move a lot are very important in order to build and maintain strong feet. Thank you to for your knowledge and patience with me. and Dr Rissa Parker for all your knowledge regarding diets.
