We are a professional Animal Hospital situated in the beautiful Ceres valley, delivering outstanding veterinary services for more than 54 years. We aim to be a one-stop practice for all your retail, small animal, equine, farm animal, exotic and even wildlife needs. We have a small as well as equine operating theatre; and the latest in diagnostic imaging and dental equipment.

What a busy start to the week!

Our Equine Theatre has been keeping us on our toes.

Monday, we had Dr Arnold Mahne from Equispes Clinical Services in the house and as always, we really enjoy having him with us. Working together, sharing experience and tackling equine cases as a team is always a pleasure.

Today, Dr Hannelu, Sr Lize and Dr Elna were back at it. Talk about girl power.

This little guy took “going fishing” a little too seriously.

One hook in his nose, another in his paw and not a single fish to show for it.
Thankfully, our team was on hand to remove the unwanted catches and get him back to being his happy self.

A reminder to keep fishing hooks, lines and other sharp objects safely away from curious paws and noses.

2 hooks. 0 fish. 1 very unlucky fisherman.

It has been a busy week in our hospital, with our equine patients keeping the team on their toes. We are happy to share that both horses are doing well and making good progress as we head into the weekend.

We’re also pleased to announce that, following renovations, our equine facilities are officially up and running again!

There is nothing better than ending a busy week with some positive updates and knowing that we’ve been able to provide the care and attention all our patients deserve.

And this weekend, Dr Coenie Blignaut is on duty and ready to assist all patients.

Vanoggend het Huppel & Knibbel Leersentrum vir ons kom kuier.

Dit was so lekker om hierdie klomp klein diereliefhebbers by ons te verwelkom!
Hulle het meer geleer oor hoe om mooi na ons diere om te sien, wat dit beteken om ’n verantwoordelike troeteldiereienaar te wees en hoe belangrik dit is om diere altyd met liefde, geduld en respek te behandel. 🐶🐱🐴

Hulle het ook ’n bietjie eerstehandse insig gekry in wat ’n veearts se werk behels en hoe ons elke dag probeer om ons pasiënte gesond, gelukkig en gemaklik te hou. Dit was wonderlik om te sien hoe nuuskierig hulle was, hoeveel vrae hulle gevra het en hoe opgewonde hulle was om meer oor diere en hul versorging te leer.

Baie dankie aan Huppel & Knibbel Leersentrum dat julle die oggend saam met ons kom spandeer het. Ons hoop julle het dit net so baie geniet soos ons! 🐾

Wie weet, dalk het ons vandag ’n paar toekomstige veeartse tussen julle ontdek! 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️🐶✨

Welcome Back, Sr Lize!

We are delighted to welcome Sr Lize Van Huyssteen back to Ceres Animal Hospital as our locum veterinary nurse for the time being.

After spending time serving on a missionary expedition across Asia, it is a privilege to have her caring hands and familiar smile back with us. Her compassion, dedication and genuine love for animals have always made a lasting impression on our team and clients alike.

While her time with us is temporary, we are incredibly grateful to have her back as part of the Ceres Animal Hospital family. We know many of our clients will be just as excited to see a familiar face again.
