THEY THOUGHT THEY HAD A HOME... 💔😔

On Sunday, Lilly, Ivy and Zinnia were returned to our care.

Almost 8 months ago, these three little girls left our rescue as tiny puppies. We celebrated their adoptions, believing they had found the forever homes every rescue dog deserves.

But forever lasted only a few months.

The reason? They are still puppies. They are busy, energetic and require time, patience and commitment. Their family no longer wanted them.

When they arrived back at our kennels, they had no idea what was happening. They were confused, scared and overwhelmed. The little white girl especially is absolutely terrified, trying to make sense of why her world has changed again.

As rescuers, moments like these break our hearts.

We invest so much hope into every adoption. We dream of happy endings. Yet sometimes we are left picking up the pieces when those promises are broken.

Sadly, the second and third vaccinations required in their adoption contract were never given, and the microchips we supplied for them to be implanted were simply returned unused.

Lilly and Ivy are beautiful medium-sized Beagle crosses, while Zinnia is a medium-sized Labrador Africanis cross. All three are loving young dogs who deserved the stability of a forever family.

Despite everything, we will make sure these girls get what they need. They will receive their vaccinations, be sterilised, and when they are ready, they will once again begin the search for families who will love them for life.

Lilly, Ivy and Zinnia deserve more than being wanted only when they are small and cute. They deserve commitment. They deserve security. They deserve a family that understands that puppies grow up.

Most of all, they deserve a forever home that truly means forever. ❤️🐾

WE ARE LEFT TO PICK UP THE PIECES 😔

This photo was taken after a mother dog and her puppies were surrendered into our care.

The sadness in her eyes is hard to ignore.

She doesn't understand why her life has changed. She doesn't know why she is no longer in the place she once called home. She only knows that everything is different, and that her babies are depending on her.

These are the moments that break our hearts.

Time and time again, we are left to pick up the pieces. We comfort the frightened, reassure the confused, and help them learn to trust again after their world has been turned upside down.

The good news is that this little family is safe. They are cared for, loved, and will never have to face an uncertain future alone.

We can't change what brought them here, but we can make sure their story doesn't end here. 🙏🏻🐾

A MOTHER NEVER FORGETS 🩷🐾

When we visited Zoey on Sunday, our hearts broke all over again.

This beautiful girl is still very scared. She lowers her head and tries to hide her face whenever we approach her. Yet despite everything she has endured, she has shown absolutely no aggression. She allows us to touch her and comfort her, but it is clear that she is still learning that not all humans will hurt her.

The people who had been feeding Zoey told us that after her puppies were rescued, she returned to the abandoned room she called home and cried for them. She searched. She waited. She never stopped looking for her babies.

So we decided to place one of her puppies with her.

And everything changed.

The moment she saw her baby, she knew.

Her body relaxed, her eyes lit up, and for a moment, a piece of her broken heart seemed to heal.

We weren't looking at a frightened rescue dog, we were looking at a mother.

A mother who never stopped loving her babies, a mother who never stopped searching, a mother who never forgot.

Zoey still has a long road ahead, but with patience, kindness, and love, we know she will learn to trust again.

Can you believe this is the same dog?

Many of you will remember Face, now lovingly known as Bullet, who came into our care with a severely swollen face and an uncertain future. At the time, there were many questions about what had happened to him, but one thing was clear, he was in pain and desperately needed help.

Today, we are incredibly proud to share that Bullet is doing exceptionally well after a long road to recovery. What was initially feared to be something much worse turned out to be an abscess, and with proper veterinary care, medication, patience, and lots of love, he has made an amazing recovery.

His transformation is nothing short of remarkable.

A very special thank you goes to our incredible kennels mom, Tannie Miekie. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Your dedication, patience, and unwavering love have played such an important role in Bullet's healing journey. We cannot thank you enough for the countless hours, care, and effort you have invested in helping him recover.

Stories like Bullet's remind us why we never give up on the animals that come through our gates. Every dog deserves a second chance, and Bullet is living proof that with compassion, commitment, and love, healing is possible.

Thank you to everyone who supported, donated, shared his story, and kept him in your thoughts and prayers. You helped make this incredible recovery possible.

JIMMY'S FOREVER HOME IS OUT THERE 🐾🐾🩵

Meet Jimmy, one of our incredible boys who has been patiently waiting for his second chance.

In just one month's time, Jimmy will have been with us for a year. While we are grateful that he has been safe, cared for, and loved during this time, our biggest dream is to see him finally walk out of our kennels and into a home of his own.

Jimmy is still a young boy with so much love to give. He has a gentle, affectionate nature, loves human attention, and never misses the chance to greet visitors with a wagging tail and hopeful eyes.

A year ago, Jimmy was found at Uncle Harry's Roadhouse in Randfontein, alone and searching for kindness. Since then, he has patiently waited for the family that will see just how special he truly is.

We know that family is out there.

Jimmy deserves morning walks, a comfy bed, belly rubs, and a family to call his own. Most of all, he deserves to be loved for the rest of his life.

TONIGHT, ZOEY'S LIFE CHANGED FOREVER 🐾

Meet Zoey 🩷🩷

This brave mama dog has been surviving on the streets of Merwe Weg, Randfontein, for far too long. Thankfully, a kind-hearted family noticed her and reached out to us after discovering that she had puppies living in their shed.

Last weekend, we went out and managed to rescue her puppies, but despite our best efforts, Zoey remained just out of reach.

Tonight, just before 9:00 pm, we received the call we had been hoping for, Zoey had finally gone into the trap.

Without hesitation, we responded and headed out to bring her to safety.

After spending who knows how long fending for herself, Zoey is now safe in our kennels, warm, fed, and no longer alone. Tomorrow, she will be examined by our veterinarian to ensure she receives any care she may need.

A huge thank you to the wonderful family who fed her, watched over her, and cared for her all this time. Without your kindness and compassion, her story may have had a very different ending.

It was a late night, and we only arrived home just before 11:00 pm, but this is what rescue is about. The late nights, the miles travelled, the waiting, the hope, and the determination to never give up on an animal in need.

Tonight, Zoey is safe.

And tomorrow, her new life begins. 🙏🏻🐾

JASPER LOVING HIS NEW FOREVER LIFE 🩵🐾

Jasper has settled in beautifully at his new forever home in Wakkerstroom and is absolutely loving farm life. Open spaces, fresh air, new canine friends, and plenty of room to explore, it seems this is exactly what our boy needed.

After spending more than a year in our kennels, seeing Jasper happy and relaxed in an environment that suits him so perfectly fills our hearts with joy.

We are incredibly grateful to his new family for giving him this chance and for opening their hearts and home to him.

Please keep Jasper in your thoughts as he continues to settle in, but for now, we are celebrating this wonderful new chapter in his life. 🙏🏻🩵
