We shared this yesterday for World Farm Animals Day, but for some reason it disappeared from our feed. It’s too important not to share again. 💚🌱

Today is World Farm Animals Day.
A day that exists because billions of beings are born into a system designed to erase their voices.

The world calls this “livestock.” We call them by name. We see not products, but persons. Not commodities, but companions.

Every rescue is proof that a kinder future is possible. Proof that “normal” can change.

On this World Farm Animals Day, we hold two truths at once:
• The suffering is vast.
• But so is the possibility of healing.

We honour the billions who never made it here. And we fight for the ones still waiting to be seen.

Love and compassion is not radical. It is what being human is meant to be.

This afternoon we said goodbye to our sweet bunny, Oreo. He’d been with us for over 8 wonderful years (which is already a long and full life for a rabbit). This afternoon he passed away peacefully of old age, on a soft blanket and surrounded by love.

We’ll miss you, sweet boy ❤️

This Sunday marks 10 years since we lost Oscar (Asher) Hirsch. His passing, and the way he and his wife, Elise, lived their lives inspired the founding of Asher’s Farm Sanctuary.

Oscar believed animals deserved freedom and kindness, and his values continue to guide us every day here at the sanctuary.

He also loved a good sweet treat, so, in honour of him, for this Sunday only, we’re celebrating his life with a buy 1 get 1 free mylkshake special ✨

Omega, our broiler rooster, has been with us for over three years. Broilers are bred to grow so fast for consumption that their bodies often fail long before they would naturally age. Most never see a year.

Every day with Omega is a gift and a quiet reminder of what life could be if we chose care over exploitation. His resilience and personality are proof that given love, even the most “engineered” lives can flourish.
