The black camp, we call it that as blue and chocolate are actually dilutes of black. This morning they decided to investigate the kennel where one of the silkies is STILL broody.

Just a note we do not recommend keeping ducks and chickens together unless your drakes have 5 or more ducks each which ours do.

The reason for this is drakes will otherwise will try breed chickens which will kill the hens due to different anatomy.

Pretty little boy born in the early hours of this morning. This is a cross breed doe we rescued she was very under weight when we got her.

We bred her to a Nigerian ram on someone's request.

So for those that don't know, you get hermaphrodite goats. This is a goat with both female and male genitalia.

What you see in this picture that looks like a growth is in fact male genitalia combined with female genitalia.

How does this happen? This can happen when breeding two natural polled goats together.

Most hermaphrodite goats express male tendencies.

We got this goat with its mother who is a natural polled goat, so although I don't know the circumstances surrounding the baby, I assume it's dad was also polled. We returned the baby as we have no use for her and they can be a bit more aggressive with them having more ram like traits and of course also being a bit confused. This causes extra stress around our ewes which we prefer to not have.
