Vandag groet ons een van ons baie spesiale volunteers, Mishca. Sy het ’n nuwe werksgeleentheid gekry, en ongelukkig beteken dit dat sy ons gaan verlaat. 🥹

Mishca, waar begin ’n mens?

Jy is ’n staatmaker – iemand op wie ons kon staatmaak, iemand wat altyd bereid was om in te spring en te help waar jy kon. Maar meer as dit, het jy ’n ongelooflike vreugde na ons span gebring. ❤️

Met jou glimlag, jou persoonlikheid en jou manier van doen het jy so vinnig deel van die Paws Haven-familie geword. Dit voel asof jy nog altyd hier hoort.

Dankie vir elke uur wat jy vir Paws Haven gegee het. Dankie vir elke dier wat liefde by jou gekry het, elke taak waarmee jy gehelp het, elke glimlag en elke lekker oomblik saam met die span. 🐶🐱

Ons gaan jou ontsettend baie mis.

Al is ons hartseer om jou te sien gaan, is ons ook baie bly en trots dat daar ’n nuwe geleentheid vir jou wag. Ons wens jou net die beste toe met jou nuwe werk en met elke nuwe uitdaging en avontuur wat voorlê. 🌷

🐾❤️ IT’S BEEN A WHILE SINCE WE BRAGGED ABOUT OUR FUR BABIES WHO FOUND THEIR FOREVER HOMES! ❤️🐾

We know it’s been a little while since we shared all the happy adoption stories, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been celebrating behind the scenes. 🥹🐶🐱

Every time one of our fur babies finds their person, their family, and their forever home, we all take a little step back, smile, and celebrate! 🎉❤️

Because every adoption means one more life changed.
One more heart full.
One more happy ending. 🏡🐾
One more space opened for another baby who desperately needs us.🐾❤️

🐾💙 28 BAGS OF PUPPY FOOD! 💙🐾

We honestly don’t have enough words to describe how grateful we are. 🥹

An anonymous sponsor donated 28 bags of puppy food to Paws Haven! 🐶🙏

At the moment, our puppies are eating approximately 15kg of food EVERY SINGLE DAY. With the huge number of puppies currently in our care, keeping their little tummies full has become one of our biggest monthly expenses.

This incredible donation gives us just over a MONTH’S SUPPLY of puppy food! 😭💙

For more than a month, we can breathe a little easier knowing that our babies have food. That means more to us than we could ever put into words.

Over the past 3–4 weeks, we have been overwhelmed by the kindness, generosity and support shown to Paws Haven. 🥹🐾

🐾 MEET BUCK — A BEAUTIFUL BOY WHO DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE 🐾

Buck came into Paws Haven last week after being attacked by another dog. 💔

He suffered severe bite wounds as well as a broken front leg. Sadly, after everything he had already been through, his owner signed him over and said that he no longer wanted him.

So we named him Buck. ❤️

And what makes his story even sadder is that Buck is an absolutely wonderful dog.

🐶 He gets along with other dogs
🐱 He gets along with cats
👧 He is good with children
❤️ He loves people

Buck has all the potential to be an incredible family dog. Despite the pain and trauma he has experienced, he still has so much love to give.

His first operation alone cost us R4,500, and his treatment and recovery are still ongoing.

🙏 There are two ways you can help Buck:

🏡 ADOPT HIM — Give this beautiful boy the forever family he deserves.

💙 HELP WITH HIS VET BILL — Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us cover the cost of his treatment and recovery.

Buck didn't choose what happened to him. But hopefully, we can help choose what happens next — a safe home, a loving family and a brand-new beginning.

🐾 PAWS HAVEN NEEDS A CEMENT MIXER — TO MAKE A GIANT WASHING MACHINE! 🧺🐶

This may sound like a strange request, but for an animal shelter it could be an absolute game changer! 🙏

Every single day at Paws Haven we wash huge amounts of blankets, bedding and towels. Unfortunately, normal household washing machines simply cannot keep up with the workload.

We are constantly dealing with machines breaking down, repairs and maintenance costs — and we rely heavily on our community to help us replace and repair them.

💡 So we want to try something different.

Other animal shelters have successfully converted cement mixers into heavy-duty washing machines, and we believe this could be the solution Paws Haven desperately needs.

🏗️ WE ARE LOOKING FOR A BUSINESS TO SPONSOR:
• Preferably a NEW cement mixer
• Preferably electric, so that we can simply plug it in
• A strong, durable machine that can handle our daily mountain of blankets!

If your business supplies cement mixers, construction equipment, machinery or believes you may be able to help us make this project possible, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH.

Even if you cannot donate the entire machine, perhaps you can assist with sponsorship, a discounted unit, parts or help with the conversion. Every bit of assistance could bring us closer to a long-term solution.

Think your boss deserves a day in the kennel? 😜 Then this fundraiser is for you!

📅 Event Date: 4 September 2026
⏰ Register before: 20 August 2026

Book a kennel for your boss, decorate it, brand it with your business, and get your staff ready to raise the funds to “adopt” them on the day!

💰 Adoption fee: R2 500

The adoption fee includes:
🐾 Vaccination
🐾 Rabies vaccination
🐾 Deworming
🐾 Microchip
🐾 Food & water for the day

✂️ Sterilisation available at an extra R1 000 😜
(Just kidding… or are we?)

Kennels open at 08:00, and your boss will have to “camp out” until the team has raised enough funds to adopt them!

It’s a fun team-building day with a very serious purpose — every rand raised helps Paws Haven rescue, care for, sterilise and rehome animals in need. ❤️🐶🐱

Meet our very own Charlie and his Angels! 🐱❤️

These four gorgeous babies were born approximately 6 June and are now ready to find families of their own. 🏡

They may be tiny, but they are full of personality, curiosity and kitten mischief! 😹 And just like true Charlie’s Angels, we think these girls — and their Charlie — are pretty special.
