๐ฃ FOR YOUR INFORMATION ๐ฃ
I have heard members of the public say we are so expensive with our adoptions, which I seriously battle to absorb!
The kittens/cats are for F R E E !
There is a R600 adoption fee payable for various medical treatment we do for your selected kitten or adult cat on your behalf being:
1. De-worming
2. 1st set of vaccinations
3. Sterilization at 6 months of age
4. A micro-chip inserted at 6 months of age
5. A vet card detailing all the above mentioned
May I point out that all this medical treatment at a private vet would cost in the region of R1500.00 plus.
Then I have heard too, that we will just get a free kitten off Facebook, a neighbour, etc
That kitten has not had any medical treatment! Usually not even dewormed, which causes major gut infestations and without all the abovementioned medical treatment, 9 out of 10 times you have to pay thousands on vet bills to try to save its life when diseases hit! And then you still have to pay for all the above metioned medical treatment anyway!
And if you are a responsible parent, you will have all this medical treatment done to protect your kitten/cat which as already pointed out will cost you a lot more!
And, prevent the kitten getting sick or dying and help curb the over-population of hundreds of unwanted litters that are dumped on others like ourselves to take care of which costs us thousand of rands per month! Then too, there are very little donations (we are however most grateful for these few caring people who do donate) and NO government funding!
I as a pensioner personally work on average 16 hours a day, 7 days a weeks for ABSOLUTELY NO PAY!
All for the love of saving a kitten or cat that someone else abandoned!
Hope this clears up some huge mis-conceptions.
