💡 Fact: Sometimes, not feeding your dog for a short period is the best way to help them recover. Fasting gives the digestive system a much-needed break to reduce inflammation and irritation. Just like us, dogs need time to rest their guts when things go a little haywire.

⏳ A 12–24 hour fast (with access to water) can help your dog’s body calm the storm and get back on track naturally. But—and this is important—not all dogs should fast.

Did you know that pet food nutrient percentages can be misleading?

🧐 Why It Matters:
Pet food labels list nutrients based on wet matter (as-fed), which includes moisture. This makes raw food seem lower in protein than kibble – but that’s not the full picture!

Here’s the truth:
🐾 Raw food: 65-75% moisture (appears lower in protein)
🐾 Kibble: 8-12% moisture (appears higher in protein)

That’s why we use Dry Matter Basis (DMB) – a formula that removes moisture so we can accurately compare kibble, raw, and wet foods.
