π¨π± Did You Know? Avoiding the Litter Box Can Become a Medical Emergency
Cats are incredibly clean animals. If a cat suddenly stops using their litter box, it's often a sign that something is wrong β and it's not behaviour that should be ignored.
Holding urine for too long can increase the risk of:

β οΈ Bladder stones
β οΈ Painful bladder inflammation (FLUTD)
β οΈ Urinary blockages β a life-threatening emergency, especially in male cats
Warning signs to watch for:
β’ Straining in the litter box
β’ Frequent trips with little or no urine
β’ Crying or discomfort when toileting
β’ Excessive licking of the ge***al area
β’ Hiding, lethargy or vomiting
π‘ A cat that hasn't urinated for 24 hours requires immediate veterinary attention.
One of the most common reasons cats avoid the litter box is cleanliness. Regular scooping, appropriate litter choice and maintaining a hygienic litter area can make a huge difference.
πΎ Healthy litter habits are about more than convenience β they're an important part of a cat's overall health and wellbeing.
