Luna naturally walks strong and with enthusiasm on lead, but we’re seeing some lovely self-control develop. Luna is now able to pass other dogs and various triggers without lunging or becoming vocal, while still maintaining her forward, happy attitude.

Learning that she can stay connected and focused in exciting environments is an important skill, and she’s doing really well. We’re proud of the progress this clever girl is making! 🌟

We worked on impulse control, focusing on waiting calmly at gates and doors before being invited through. These small exercises help build patience, self-control, and a stronger connection with her handler.

She’s making wonderful progress and is becoming more focused and thoughtful with every session. 🐾❤️

Today we worked with Luna on lead walking, but more importantly, on building her confidence.

Luna is a sensitive pup who often struggles to trust herself and can find the outside world overwhelming. During our walk, she showed us that she is stronger and more capable than she believes. With gentle guidance and support, she began to relax, explore, and enjoy her surroundings without being ruled by anxiety and fear.

Confidence isn’t about being fearless—it’s about learning that you can cope, even when things feel uncertain. It is important that she felt safe with the person walking her. Dogs are truly mirrors of our own internal world and if we anticipate that they will be fearful or reactive it will increase the likelihood.

Luna had a really engaging session working on recall and connection through hide-and-seek style games 🌿

She was asked to use her awareness and check in more actively, finding her handler again after short moments of separation. At first it’s all excitement and searching energy, but then you can see her start to think, slow down, and tune in more carefully.

These kinds of games build a deeper sense of connection without pressure — it becomes about relationship, not just obedience. She had to problem-solve, stay engaged, and learn that finding her person is rewarding and fun.

She really started to settle into the task, switching from excitement into focus as she followed her nose. It’s always beautiful to watch that shift where things click and she becomes fully engaged in what she’s doing.

For a young dog, this kind of work builds confidence, calm thinking, and trust in her own abilities. She stayed with it, kept trying, and showed real progress in her understanding.

Luna had another good session on the farm today 🌿

We focused on recall, building her confidence around other dogs, and walking on lead while another dog was present alongside her. For a 10-month-old Golden Retriever, she really handled it with so much effort and willingness to learn.

There were moments where things felt exciting and a bit overwhelming for her, but she kept coming back to guidance and trying again, which is exactly what we want to see at this age. These early experiences shape so much of how young dogs learn to regulate themselves in the world, and she’s starting to find her rhythm.

Step by step, she’s learning to stay connected even with distractions around her, and that progress is worth celebrating.

Today we took Luna for a walk alongside another dog to help build her confidence, improve her social skills, and continue working on her lead walking.

It was definitely a challenge for her at times, and there were moments when she wanted to pull and lunge, but she worked through it beautifully. For a young dog who is still learning how to navigate the world around her, she did really well.

Training isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress, and Luna is making steady strides every day. We’re so proud of her willingness to learn and her growing confidence. 💛🐾
